'has' is just the past version of 'is,' so it technically can be "it has."
Such as, "It's been a long day."

They left out "its" .. the possessive version of the third-person adjective.
I.E. That's the Dolphin's tail. Its tail is pretty big.
English is a bitch .. we have a lot of "rules" but a lot of exclusions that twist em up. I've heard it's one of the tougher languages to master for non-native speakers (like the example above).
