What should FYRE do?

I'm trying to decide whether to major in Classical Studies or Philosophy. I like both but I simply cant decide which one I should do.
Any help?

In all honesty i would do neither if I were you. I know people who are in their last year on university in both of those and they can't seem to find any type of job relating to either of them and can't support themselves at all.

List jobs from studying Philosophy and Classical Studies, other than teaching it.
It would help OP with his decision.

These choices you have listed are mainly used for educational occupations.
If thats what you are going for I would suggest Philosophy

I would agree with Philosophy over Classical.
However, to teach either of these courses, you need at least a Masters, and then it's very competitive for men to get teaching jobs in post secondary.

I don't particularly care if I can't get a job relating to my degree. I believe knowledge in itself is an honourable goal, and I find these subjects to be the most interesting.

I should do. I know two people who paid off 90% of their debt from working part time during their studies, so I think I'll manage so long as I work hard.

I'm just worried for you once you finish school if you can't find a great paying job you won't be able to pay it off! But if you're interested in knowledge I would go the philosophy route! I think it would give you a greater sense of accomplishment.
