A year later, and the Gambinos were still the most powerful crime family in all of New York City. Having successfully vanquished Luciano hitmen and an FBI agent a year ago, the Gambino family felt unstoppable. But in their arrogance, they had grown... sloppy.

That night, the family had been planning to celebrate their greatest accomplishment so far: electing one of their own as mayor of New York City. But as the hours ticked by, MattZed didn't show up to celebrate. Apparently the plan wasn't as successful as they thought: on his way to the meeting Mayor Zed was pulled over and arrested on corruption charges. The family was lucky he didn't make it; the meeting could have incriminated the entire family.

The FBI had clearly not given up on taking down the Gambino family. But they must have have had some form of help. The Lucianos were probably back to settle the score. It was time for Mafia Wars II to begin.

MattZed, the Corrupt Mayor, has been arrested by the FBI.
