任 means no restriction and no condition, so anything will do.

Hm... I have the slight feeling we have a language difference here :P ... I think I am trying too hard to read in Cantonese. I also never really learned them in school ... soo :P

I know compounds that contain 任. But 任 itself doesn't have any meaning. .... I know 任 can be a first name.

There are several systems. I use 'new quick' and it's really, really fast if you mastered it (unlike me). I think my cousin can type way faster than you could ever type English.
