Did you really believe such a fairy tale ending?
A lone man, a lone medic no less, managed to survive the city wide battle agains the conduits? You know what conduits are right? Fucking superhumans. You think a medic triumped against superhumans to lead humanity into some golden age of peace?
I don't think you're that stupid; so let me tell you how it really went down...Hi, I'm Elixir and I'll be hosting FM XX. Helping me will be Slaol and AppleyNO.
Why New Marais again?
Those of you who have been around for a while will probably know whenever I host a game I try to reinnovate what it means to play the game. I try to design something unique and fun that provides a gameplay experience that is enjoyed so much that it is reused.
- FMII - My First Ever game, This was the first game to reward good (or sometimes bad) players with awards. Which has become a staple across all FMs
- FMV - New Marais, This was the game that revolutionised futures FMs forever. It was the first FM to play with a non italian mafia theme which has never really been revisited, was the first to contain musical intros and storylined intros, was the first to try a timed related storyline role (more on this later), The first game to have secondary objectives related to rewards and was the only full FM in my recent memory to make it to last man standing.
- FMXI - I attempted a one Mafia setup with effects that affected everyone that changed each night. While I didn't really execute this properly, future hosts took this concept of night events and did much better things with it.
- M-FM X - I tried to merge the Mafia and Cult into one team where they had the option of playing as either depending on how the game unfolds.
As XX is a big number, I really wanted to revisit where this forums FMs truly began and to take what I've learned from the feedback I've gotten to make this awesome.
Also I guess it's a tribute to the PS4 launch and the new inFamous game to come in March.
I'll run a rules and other things FAQ in the coming days, as well as release the role cards etc.
While feedback from FMV was favourable, and people really did like the Beast and being timed as a pressure concept, it just flat out winning the game wasn't a good way to implement it. While the beast IS returning due to people liking it, I've redesigned it as a threat but not as a game ending threat.
The way the two mafia teams in this game are set up is like this:
The Vermaak players get to pick their roles on an extended night 1 depending on how they want to play after discussing strategy with one another, wheras the Cole team will have their roles already publically known. -- The catch is if the Beast gets here, the Cole team will be presented with a choice that can strengthen their team in the late game in different ways; and may either help or hinder the other teams as well.
I'm not going to show you what that choice is.
