I mean, I could run a server from my computer, but it would be shit for other people to play on.

Depends on the host you use and the options. I would probably spend at most in the $20-30 a month range.

oh the MC server. I remember when I spawned into the map for the first time (no items on me), and used /teleport 1 and was teleported to timetrx's island in the middle of the ocean. He freaked out at me, so i left the island; however, that didn't stop him sperging out and chasing me for 10 minutes trying to kill me lmao.

That's because you updated to the latest version, while the server hasn't yet. You need to select TekkitLite build .5.7 from the TekkitLite options menu.
