The 'Respected' badge

Before, the 'Respected' badge used to belong to a few amount of people whom the community actually did respect. It was obvious whenever they would speak with the 'Respected' that they did, as a matter of fact, respect them.

Lately, however, I have noticed a great influx of users with the 'Respected' badge. Are they truly 'Respected', or has a symbolic badge been reduced to nothing more than a blue donor tag which is a little more difficult to obtain?

Personally, I view people who are worthy of respect, not of their title(or in this case, the color of their name), but by how well they play FMs, how well they host, if they are respectful to other forum members, and/or are proactive/helpful in other areas of the forum.

The respected badge has lost all meaning to me lately. Thus why I have chosen to not wear it even though I have access to it.

For example; look at MintberryCrunch. He's funny, and I like him, but he gave away mod keys before the new system was implemented, he just wasn't punished because he wasn't open about it.

Now he's got the 'Respected' badge.

Personally, I think it was a poor choice to give Respected for the Mafia Cup.

FM should be the only way to earn the 'Respected' badge.

Honestly, I don't think any should. That was the purpose of the league, but Spazztik never updated the scores and went AWOL.

How about mastercup.png, new badge symbol, gold glow, and gold name?

That way, it is it's own thing. People will know what it is for.

Also: How about a monthly Mafia Cup. In the next one, you must defend your title. If you win again, you keep it, if not, you pass it to another person until you can try for it again the next month.

There were qualifiers before hand so I'm guessing 10 or more games in one night.

If you are referring to MintBerry Crunch, he was awarded the badge due to the fact that he won the Mafia Cup.

The Respected badge is awarded to anyone who has shown their skill to be worthy to be 'respected'.
It isn't based on morality.

Edit: This is where ideas such as Crypt's can come in and suggest that there should be a different badge for Mafia Cup.

I think you don't understand the mafia cup. It was NOT related to Mafia League in any way, shape, or form. It was something DR did, and he had the players play 4 games, then he had a mod count the points. He then had the top 15 play 3 games, and whoever had the most amount of points got the respected.

Who do you think has the Respected badge that shouldn't have it?
