    Mafia's dying

    Don't mean to be all doom and gloom, but pre-ranked games, back when the Mafia community was united, Mafia was around the 7 or 8 mark for top played arcade games on battlenet. After ranked games were released, Mafia has fallen all the way down to spot #60. Is there some other reason why Mafia has made the big desent that I don't know about, or is it because of the divided community which came with Ranked games? If it is the later, what should happen over Ranked games?

    i've been here for more than a year...

    anyways, i think DR should release all trolls/prisoners in his prison (Kickvote/ban list people etc) and give them all a troll day, or a troll week.

    Thus, the hours played increases again.

    Once a week or every 2 week troll days, trolls get mods and mods get banned, o wait that April fools day, then just every two weeks nobody banned for a day.

    That would have the exact same effect except splitting the popularity to 2 different maps. Ranked is still on the same map just a different mode.

    i suggested a while ago that a "ranked or custom" selection be smacked in front of every1 when a mafia game starts from lobby to game set up, that intermission. and imo ranked should auto start a selection at random that is deemd fair.

    alternativley if enuf ppl pick custom it would be standard play.

    i agree, ranked should be scrapd so we can get more people playing again for shorter game Q's

    While I cannot say for certain what's going on in the different servers, there is something I'm certain about. Since release, Mafia has been an incredibly successful game, spending most of it's time on the first page, and never dropping below the upper reaches of the second page, even during the huge stint where no roles were released. Very recently, the mafia system changed so that people can choose between Ranked and Custom games. Soon after Mafia fell all the way to page 5, and is now completely unable to get any higher.

    Sorry, but I don't know what else could possibly be the cause of this.

    In dec 2011 eu mafia was on page 6. Its then I took a 7-8months break from sc2 and played dota 2 for a long time.

    I am for the removal of ranked mode. Make in-game reward more points to everybody if its a save that is or is very close to one of the extremely balanced saves.

    Doesn't really prove anything. The populations are rather different.

    For example, if you raised the cost of soccer game tickets in both US and EU, the attendance to soccer games in the US would probably drop a lot while the attendance in EU would drop less.
