Alright, it seems like you would rather feel sorry for yourself vs. listen to the points that I'm trying to make and which I am addressing to the entire forum (i.e. others doing the same thing as well), not just you. That's fine, but it doesn't address the underlined problem and you will continue to have this issue in games as long as you play like this. As much crap as you got for your Mayor play in FF7, at least you were active and trying back then -- you don't even try anymore and it's rather sad to see the regression.

Yeah, I kinda miss those days when I would check if someone had posted 20 times an hour.

No one is saying you have to be playing frantically, but some basic initiative would be nice. You know, looking at posts, giving you take on them, pushing other players -- i.e. adding something to the discussion, whether it be a new thought or your thought on something going on. The only times you seem to post in games these days is when others are trying to lead a lynch on you (i.e. reactionary complaining about being targeted / survivalist play) or off-topic color commentary type points. It's just extremely counterproductive to any Town and makes the game very unenjoyable.

That works out alright in the mod since everyone is a TPR, but that's just not how FM works and you obviously know this given the number of games you've played. If you prefer the passive mod style of Mafia where most of the game is driven by night actions, that's fine and maybe the mod is just a better fit for your playstyle and current mood.

What I think people are saying is they want you just to play a better. If anyone expects you to suddenly change your whole skill level, then they are idiots. They are just after you trying more, and don't mind if you completely fail at trying, if your reads are terrible or if your opinions seem terrible. We all have to start somewhere and we only get better when we try.

Tell people you are gonna try and show them. Get to the point where when they try and policy lynch you, you have contributed enough to make an easy argument to show its not a policy lynch.
=) and just ignore people who are being mean. They like to put people down so they feel taller. They at not trying to help you. And if they think they are, they need to look again.

Pretty much this. The beautiful thing about a policy lynch is that it usually goes away if there is literally any other plausible case made against any other player -- a PL tends to be the absolute last resort when the Town has no better idea of who to lynch on Day 1. In other words, all you have to do to get beyond a PL is to play the game and start making cases against other players you find scummy. If you do that, no one is going to want to PL you anyway, because you're trying to help the Town and providing thoughts that could help uncover the scum.

Being wrong is far better than not trying at all. Mislynches can reveal information that can end up helping the Town. It also allows players to read you and provides insights into how you are interacting with others and how others react to being pushed, etc. Literally, the worst thing you can do is nothing. Basically, just do something that could help the Town and the problem goes away. I know different people have different levels of comfort with detailed responses and such, but it's not difficult to skim a thread and respond to those things that catch your attention and which you find interesting or suspicious. That's all people are asking.

You are just showing that you in fact did not learn your lesson. Take criticism personally and keep ruining games in that case.

    Oh, the irony.

You call him out for taking a comment related to his play as an attack by making a personal attack. Of course he is not going to try if cantankerous people like you have to antagonize his person rather than his play. If anything, what you are doing is giving him a reason not to try.

You have gone too far there.

Somehow, I'm not (nor do I imagine anyone else is) sympathetic that you were AWOL for the game for 22 hours (instead of 24 hours) and got replaced -- if you had that much of a conflict, you should have talked to the host. It was also LYLO where the Town needed contribution from each of its members to have a chance to stay alive.

P.S. You really need to stop hammering Town reads and focus more during LYLO situations. You are getting a reputation for being the type of player that the scum should keep alive for the end-game, lol.

    Ugh, true.

I let the incoherent wallpost play leak in a few times too T_T

Still a step up from last game, though ^^

I read you as Town this game as your thoughts, while weird, seemed to be consistent and genuine. It's more taking the musings and directing them toward what the Town should do which is something you could work on. The analysis is there, but it's translating the analysis to persuasion and a course of action. I feel like you often get bullied into doing the wrong thing too -- those aforementioned hammerings of your Town reads. If you feel like you're right, try to make that case to others and stand your ground.

So if you admit they're right, why don't you change your playstyle ?

Yes, mafia can win by just kurking off the pressure, but where's the fun in that ? In the end, why do you play ? For the win or for the fun ?

Even spending less than one hour a day on a game would be fine, imo that's not that much time.

This. We all play games together, and how good/enjoyable those games are depends on how much effort the other players put into it. There is a justified concern among many players that you aren't putting in the same effort they are, so this makes their games less enjoyable.

What SJ said was right. No one is expecting you to be pro overnight, but it would be helpful for everyone if you could share more of your thoughts in-game so that they can see that you're trying to improve your play and enjoy the game.

The toxicity is not appropriate, and it's being handled. But I do want to see you around in more games, and I hope you take the advice given here to heart.

It should also be noted, that when I *****'ed with gyrlander he told me exactly who the mafia were exactly correct. For some reason he didn't express his thoughts on this in the game thread, and only told me which resulted in him just posting pictures.

He isn't bad, just doesn't contribute what he knows for some reason....
