    Re: RIP Spain

The average sports fan has a consistent bet at all times. The prize being 'bragging rights' and the right to give your friends shit. Soccer is easily my favorite sport, but I let it go most of the time simply because there isn't anyone to talk with about it like with football and basketball. Everyone I know that got into sports at a later age did it to argue with people, this they wanted to know their stuff. Being a sports fan is like a competition, and what is the point of investing time if everyone wins. It's like a game of red rover or follow the leader if you don't argue. Need dat rage.

lol now you discuss but 2 days ago no one wanted to comment?

spain is out now in group phase lmao. i never liked their playstyle anyway
we win it this time, i can feel it^^
americans are not so interested in soccer but literally the rest of the world is lol
i'm not such a big sports fan anyway, i'm just interested in some important games, like the world cup now. but i do sports myself, not soccer though
me also thinks usa is gonna make it 2nd in our group, their trainer is jürgen klinsmann, a german who trained our own team back at the wc 2006 (the one in germany)

    Re: RIP Spain

I'm following the world cup with incredible passion.

Mexico has been dominating the U17, U23, and summer olympics in soccer. It's a shakeup in the world cup squad as they've opened up positions for this new younger generation of major championship winning players. They have an incredible amount of potential, but at the world cup level the management seems to be constantly screwing up replacing the head coach way too many times. IMO they should rehire Hugo Sanchez as head coach and let a legendary team take the trophy back to Mexico in 2018 and 2022.

Mexico will unfortunately face the Netherlands

IMO Netherlands aka Holland is looking to be a top contender for this years champion.

I also like the way Italy is playing. France gets a nod as well.

Incredible underdogs Costa Rica. I've seen how they played in the CONCACAF division so it wasn't a surprise to me that they would dominate their difficult group. In my opinion, their group is the true group of death. Costa Rica (way undervalued and underrated, 2013 UNCAF champions), Uruguay (former world cup champion), England (former world cup champion), Italy (former world cup champion).

Bosnia is out but a team to be remembered. No shame going home Bosnia.

Portugal is shitting bricks right now, Ronaldo must not be too happy.

Argentina, aka Messi, has a lot to prove in his last world cup appearance. But for supposedly the 'best' player, I just don't see him peaking. Ronaldo has better control and power at this point in their careers, I don't think Messi deserves the unofficial title.

Obviously Klinsmann is a major asset to the US team, a legendary player and strategic coach. Klinsmann openly admitted the US team doesn't have what it takes to make it to the finals this year, an honest fair assessment IMO.

My favorite moment this world cup was Scolari (Brazil head coach) and Herrera (Mexico head coach) hugging it out like bros after the Mexico-Brazil tie game. These teams play with a lot of respect towards each other. Some teams act like amateur hooligans at the world stage with dangerous play.

If you're watching the games, take note of which teams exchange jerseys at the end of the games.

It's no surprise to anyone in the know that FIFA is open for business. That is to mean, they are one of the most rampant openly corrupt organizations in existence. EVEN taking this into account, and acknowledging it would be EASY to fix the match, I don't see management on either side proposing or even entertaining the idea of matching a tie game. There is way too much at personal risk to management on both sides. If it were between relatively unknown, no name coaches, it would definitely be possible. One such example of this is the recent fixed match (loss) that Ghana partook in.

    bet won.
before yesterday's game, portugal had little hope anyway due to their 4-0 loss and germany was already on the good side. only chance for ghana, if they win and usa had lost
i agree with frog, D is a pretty strong group
next game we will hit algeria, shouldnt be a problem
my bet is we beat algeria then france then brazil and will then face netherlands in the final

i dont think germany would have made a deal with usa. i think they wanted to win anyway. i can understand though that they didnt do everything to make a 4-0 again after the goal

Group G could not have gone any more well for me basically, Ghana and Christiana Rinaldo got to eat shit and die, and Germany and USA got to advance. Yesterday was a good day other than the 10:25 showing of 22 Jump Street being online, but not at the theatre for some reason. Oh well.

If it's of any interest to anyone, I beat the shit out of these three 9 year olds on a FIFA game with Germany over Argentina 6-0 the other day.

"Argentina has Messi, Messi always scores, Argentina wins."

Yes, because soccer has 1 player on the pitch at a time.

Its 100% legal to call the other manager up and bargain for a tie game. At that point, it's simple game theory to figure out if they actually follow through with it.

Gather an angry mob of friends and scream over decent family's trying to eat dinner at a television. Its the murican way~
Intellectual growth comes from discussions, not arguments. If you are unwilling to change your position and hear the other persons side you are closed minded and wasting your time.
If you can not clearly explain what the other sides reasoning is you can not disagree with their position because you do not understand it.
