    Hurricane Sandy last shout-outs!

It sure sucks to live on the East Coast, I mean, entire bridges are sunk! However, that's also the power of the ocean. I live by the Great Lakes, so the impact should be lesser. I pray for no flooding.

I've never really directly experienced the full-brunt of a hurricane's strength before. Where I live is on a slightly more elevated area, so that should be slightly advantageous. Don't know if our power will be one to go out, or if it does how long, but I've got a Magnalite!

It's a genius infinite source of light: all you have to do is shake it so the metal thingy inside goes up and down (yes, beating it), and it'll produce an LED light beam for the charge that you've given it. And when it's still on, if it starts to dissipate, you shake it and it lights up brighter. Useful, especially when I'll have nothing to do but read "A Dance with Dragons".

Any of you? Has it already passed over you?

Actually yes. I am to lazy to start linking etc, but scientists have proven that because of our pollution, the ozone is deteriorating and as a result of that, the oceans heat levels are rising. As a result of that, these "Super storms" are starting to happen, where a normal cold storm whips up the heat and all of a sudden causes massive differences in how the storm reacts. This doesn't mean that 1 person makes a difference though we'd need to stop pollution on at least a 1/4 earth level in order to make any change.

I am still a bit skeptical with global warming science. But I do believe less pollution is better anyways. Sandy surely helped clean a bit.

Actually ocean temperature is rising because of the greenhouse effect + less ice at the poles.
Holes in the ozone just allow more ultra violet radiation through.

Yes but your statement is so vague. "The world" is "affected" by "green house gases" and "global warming".

I don't think a person who doesn't truly believe in that statement is foolish. I'd be a fool to be an advocate of that statement without having actually measured anything myself.

One of the many reasons why people don't believe that global warming is primarily caused by human activity. People who just blurt out words without much meaning.

Glaciers retreat all the time, e.g. during the summer...

Yes yes yes, I am not doubting that. I am not even arguing against global warming...

People need to start realising global warming and global cooling are natural phenomenon anyways, as are "greenhouse gases" - another term for any molecule that absorbs heat, which is, any gas molecule with a net dipole moment. What you guys want to argue is that global warming in the past 20 years or so are caused by human activity, and not from the natural cycle of Earth (anything other than human sources).

My guess is that 99% of people don't even know what their argument is about.
