After some thought we should make it a flat policy for people to claim their Pres vote with reasoning first post of the day. A few reasons-
-Prevents scum from sitting back to see what they could lie about while engaging in chat
-Catching a lie does create a PoE pool that is identifiable by tracking the votes
-Tracking the votes in itself forces scum to have to justify their votes limiting how they can use them without looking bad.
We should also always give reasoning for our votes. This gives town 1 more thing to read and hunt on with 1 more opportunity to catch a wolf in a lie. I think this is socially enforceable by players simply poking people as they post for their votes and reasoning.
(This also has the advantage of not dealing with talks about the vote hours before EoD which is just a silly waste of time distracting from what should be discussed- the lynch)

Great Speech looked bad in their EOD interactions (more on that later) and I felt Purple Forest and Snail were more of a mixed read for the town which would make problems in leading and Mountain Top has not been as assertive. Also felt I am a bad pick given me being around at days end will very often be an issue conflicting with my IRL obligations.

Green Nya- Totally empty slot (seems willfully so.) They flat out said they don’t want to bother reading the thread and mentioned they viewed the game as more of a mash. Could be ITA baiting as someone said, could be an excuse to overtly lurk (working seeing as nobody has bothered to give their slot attention.) Either way they will not be a solvable slot in day chat and lynching them would be a waste given it would not give us info on trains. I do not see pressure working given their mindset so that leaves night actions or ITA’s but if they are allowed to lurk into the late game it’s a big problem for town if they are either alignment. Killing them falls between town that is only mechanically useful in actions but a detriment in hunting/votes or scum open lurking. It is of note they did not even bother to cast a vote D1. @FM-Green Nya What are your reads and what is your reasoning for them?
Gay Cat rock- Lots of RP, and a ton of empty banter. Even rambles about the position of the vote counter before really playing the game. Dislike Green Nya with RP cat reasons, NAI misunderstanding with Lady, Drops a couple ‘I think this player is town’ (without much explanation past fish is a real tuna?) makes a poke at Ryast as opportunistic and not much else. Normally that would not be anything bad. But how the fuck did they take 91 posts to say so little!? Literally, They somehow were able to make 91 posts with that little content. I do not see hunting from them, I do not see them pushing people for information and I do not see a town mindset. Yeah, putting a 91 post player in my lurker group as an active lurker. Almost feels like they are intentionally inflating the thread to make it harder to read or to look like they have contributed more than they have. @FM-Gay What are your reads and what is your reasoning for them?
Smug Viking- 11 posts for their account. A large portion of them are fully focused on the presidential votes. They hinted at having some mechanic where if they die Happy Drunk will be confirmed town and that they have the flu. Nothing scummy but pretty much zero hunting or solving in any way. Hope they get better if they are sick but unfortunately Mafia is also one of those games you gotta always question whats a lie and as of now this slot has given nothing we can read it off. I disliked them being pushed as a lynch EoD given it would provide us with no information (Kinda like the shit option we went with anyways in spite of people talking about what information is gained from a lynch) but they need some attention. @FM-Wasteland What are your reads and what is your reasoning for them?
WhiteSquare- Suspected of being the +1 account (Oddly when Green Nya is in the game.) They take 22 posts mostly bantering with a few soft stances and toss some votes around without reasoning. It was of note that they were actively watching the thread and on Bosun but within 120 seconds of the counter train forming they snapped over to it that second. I would expect someone that actively playing to have more thoughts on the game. This slot could use some attention. @FM-White Square What are your reads and what is your reasoning for them?

i've been disliking raincoat cat, feels like they're in the sort of middling inoffensive position wolves like. great speech is doing ok, bosun has been vaguely weird but not nearly bad enough to justify 8 votes so i'd like to start something else. i found bosun insisting "no nulls" early on to be stupid but within the realm of town plausibility. i still like a wasteland vote but i'm accepting it's not happening atp. i'm gonna look through for a vote.

I will let Bosun defend themselves because it's their job lol (they do need to contribute more btw), but I will say:
- Forgetting about your own reads is very much a town experience, especially when you're so open about it. It felt natural, not forced or like "uhh i forgot my scum narrative", and it just matches the general tone.
- Casual tone is NAI, sure, but the general pokey-investigative behavior is town indicative imo. I simply recognize patterns from a certain kind of informal town play here.
- Regarding the "basic question": sure, but they actually followed up on their question, and when I intentionally reacted "strangely" to see where they'd go, the "ok" just seemed very... real. Scum would have some agenda that wouldn't match just letting it go; I read this as town noticing they aren't going anywhere and went on a bad route.

As for "many people townread them", um, I'm not seeing that right now lol

I'd also like to note that the defense of Bosun is looking awfully uncoordinated, and especially uncoordinated with Bosun themselves. I would expect scum!Bosun to have been warned by a scummate that I was defending them, which would have prevented the fuss about their vote on me. Lady of the Lake is the only other strong voice defending Bosun, and they have been doing so all by themselves for ages before I came in - and in a very towny and independent manner, mind you.

I wanna highlight those 2 posts I was rereading last night. Those 2 posts pinged me in a way that Great Speech was speaking from Mafia's perspective. It's almost like Great Speech had this thought in his mind that he was trying to coach their partners in the factional chat but he couldn't do it in the day chat without being caught. It just felt odd and not something a town would ever think about and thats why hes on my top list of FOS.
