Blackflag Nightless is a deceptively unusual FM setup.

Your usual FM games flow in the way of good towns dying early whilst good wolves stay for endgame - making it not unusual for a game to be decided by good wolves vs medium towns.
There's stuff like a good wolf would require keeping other good players around to not stand out, or a bad wolf spewing their good mate. But that's a story for another day.

In Blackflag Nightless, the Nightless makes it so a towncore is there for the stays and the Blackflag makes it so that the Mafia can't bus their mates.

Remember in regular FM games having a problem of wolves being able to just coast to victory?
Not in Blackflag Nightless. There they are forced to bullshit Towny slots out to get them lynched. There they are forced to bullshit scummy mates as Towny. It's the TOWN who can just coast to victory - just sit back and call out the bullshitters.

A game of Blackflag Nightless might have an EV of a perfect 50%. But it's nothing like a usual FM setup/game. The change from "1 good wolf can win the game" to "1 good town can win the game" is like night and day.

A game of mafia is Townies trying to catch the bad guys whilst the bad guys trying to look innocent.
A game of Blackflag Nightless is forcing the bad guys into the Townies hands.

A game of Blackflag is like you saying that you enjoy playing SC2 because you enjoy the macro aspect of it, but then you go playing against easy AI and start the game with typing "greeisgood 9999".

Why make the game easier on the main aspect why it's played for town? Why make the game harder and more stressful for scum, when it's the main reason people are reluctant to play, out of fear of randing scum?

Blackflag Nightless is a weird setup, and it's existence is only because of regular Mountainous being scum sided. But I rather play a 20% Mountainous, even though it's imbalanced, than a 50% Blackflag Nightless.
