I dont get how people can lynch an obvious survivor during the day. it's nonsensical. there is no reason for it. ever. there should be something that makes it harder for a survivor to get lynched during the day

Why, so survivor can win every game? This game is not about making ez mode neutrals. If you lose, you lose. Deal with it and try to think of some better way not to get lynched next time.
Spoiler : FM Roles :
I saw this the other day.
Town A has voted to put Survivor up to Trial.
10ish seconds
Survivor: Sup Mafia, I'm survivor so vote someone and I'll follow you. Come on we can kill the town.
2 seconds.
Mafia A has voted to put Survivor up to Trial.
Mafia B has voted to put Survivor up to Trial.
Mafia C has voted to put Survivor up to Trial.
Survivor has been put to trial.
Survivor: I guess that's a no then.
Made me lol.
But yeah, watch how you claim survivor if you dont wanna get killed.
Jealous town
Jealous SK
Mafia afraid that you are witch
Mean mafia
Sometimes as SK i think hey he is just a survivor let him do his thing... But then i read the role card, SK hates everybody... Im gonna kill the survivor.
So for SK its not a problem, do you what youre supposed to do.
Think about that before you reveal as survivor... With town or mafia it would be reasonable to lynch or kill survivor thinking he is lieing.
The Survivor is a 2 edge sword.
Depending on how the early days and nights play out, the survivor basically becomes either a cit or sides with the mafia.
Playing as a town role, you always want to keep track of how the game is going for the mafia team if there is a known survivor.
If the mafia don't loose any of their players in the first few nights/days, then the town would want to eliminate the survivor since he would most likely side with the mafia and help them win.
If the mafia loose one or two of it's members, then the survivor is more likely to help the town win, so keep him alive.
Playing as a mafia role gets more complicated
1- Believing someone claiming to be survivor is risky since it might expose your entire team if he lied.
2- The survivor is not guarantied to keep helping the mafia if things turn ugly.
3- Without a consig, which is becoming more and more rare, it's impossible to confirm the survivors claim.
4- Eliminating the survivor is hard because of all the bullet proof vests, you don't want to waste your shots on them, so sometimes lynching the survivor is a better plan. Especially if the mafia loose a member early on.
5- Beware of the Witch, if for any reason you suspect there being a Witch in play, then a claimed survivor becomes a prime target.
So you see, there are many valid reasons to kill a survivor depending on what faction you are.
This is pointless. It would be much too easy to survive as survivor, thus win every game.
happened to me as survivor, witch and exe. in many cases they even lost for doing so. sometimes its more important for them to win alone.
i also had a tie with 1 sheriff, a gf and me, us both appearing ns. i suggested i vote town for gf, on which the gf claimed he was the survivor and would never help a mafia, and having not enough proof, the townie assumed he must be the good guy since he's not really trying to kill him.
some people just like to destroy for others
People like to lynch survivor for two main reasons. He might actually be a witch if he is a random neutral and town obviously don't want witches being around. The second reason is that survivor usually sides with mafia because if he sides with town he is at risk of being attacked by mafia for it. It is especially convenient for survivor to switch sides with whoever is in the lead, people don't like the uncertainty of his allegiances.
There is absolutely no reason to ever lynch a Survivor without believing he's actually a Witch and you have no other leads. Personally, when I play Survivor, I openly help the town out and try to help them figure out who exactly is mafia. Of course, part of it is planning so I know who to side with when I feel the town has been outplayed, but that's to be expected. The Survivor can indeed switch on you, and I have on many occasions, but you can't blame a Survivor for surviving. If you got down to the point where it's 3 town, 3 mafia, and me, you deserve to lose my vote(generally speaking anyways, there are games where the town is just unlucky as compared to outplayed in which case I might still help them if I feel they could pull it off).
i had like 6 games now were a survivor sided with town and on the 2v1 voted the town of and let mafia win LOL i would imagine that is a reason for wanting to get rid of a survivor.Very funny stuff though ha ha
Well there you go, you said it yourself the survivor cannot be trusted. You cannot tell his allegiance and he can lie about it. Lynching the survivor might not be the wisest move but it sometimes is the right call. The Survivor can indeed switch on you, and I have on many occasions, but you can't blame a Survivor for surviving.
A while ago, the entire town wanted to lynch a survivor for some stupid reason(either they thought he was a witch or that he was 'useless). I fought for his life pretty hardly, yelling in all-caps that it's useless to lynch a survivor, that there's no point in being an asshole, etc. And then in the end of the game he goes ahead and lynches me with the Mafia instead of joining the town because he got threatened by them.
Yeah. Asshole. :P
I'm not sure if I want survivors to survive anymore.
The fact is that the Survivor is a role that can easily side with the Mafia, and the moment the amount of mafia+survivor = 1/2 the roles in the town, the Survivor can hedge his or her bets on the side that is unified and employs kill roles. If it doesn't look like the Mafia is in any trouble but the town is, lynching the Survivor may be a reliable way of eliminating a Mafia vote.
I love killing off survivors. Maybe it's just me. But even in end-games, there is 2 mafia, one town, and one survivor.
I love killing off EVERYONE, including my own mafioso.
Got a problem?
Survivor is fine you just have to play your cards right. Yes it is a hard role to win as but not impossible, it depends on who you are playing with and how you act in game.
Anyway... survivors that side with mafia may yet not survive... unlike a witch...
I'm usually very nice to my Survivors, especially when I'm mafia, having four votes instead of three makes the game a lot easier. But this one Survivor...We had the lead with him but he decided he was gonna be a townie and lynched one of us, so I made the Mayor lynch him, then I killed the Mayor, and won the game. The lesson? Don't think your safe to betray somebody who can kill at night just because you still have a vest or two left.
Survivor is pretty much one of my favourite roles, but if I don't play him I usually kill him just because I can.
Imo, people that play survivor are useless to the town, and useless to the mafia at the same time. Look at it this way, he can betray both sides, and lynching him frees up a random neutral if you have one that mafia or arson or witch can't claim. Also its just really annoying when survivor starts to accuse.
Survivor can get the win for either side, and is extremely useful as 4th vote.
he is more useful to mafia then town - hence why townies are willing to lynch him.
Survivor can be most useful to either. Survivor will side with Mafia if they are doing good.
If there is one maf left and say 3 town I am pretty sure Survivor is siding with town.
