Note: This is not the same role as suggested by philie a few days ago.
Role name: Snatcher
Description: This brute fella can, during the night, abduct a person and hiding him or her the following day. The Snatcher cannot keep a person away for more than one day.
Alignment: Town
Abilities: Abducts a person during the night, causing the target to not appear during the discussions and/or lynchings of the following day. Hence the target cannot chat, vote or get voted upon the following day.
Win Condition: Lynch all criminals and evildoers.
Host Options:
1) Limited to 1/2/3 abductions.
2) Can abduct self.
3) The players are notified when a person has been abducted.
4) Cannot abduct the same person for more than 1 day in a row.
5) Cannot abduct a person more than once.
Pros: Can be used to tip the scale in a voting, prevent people from revealing information and, with option 2 enabled, save his own life if he fears a trial the following day.
Cons: Can accidentally screw the Town over if he abducts the wrong person at the wrong time.
Overall effect on the metagame if implemented: Can lead to confusion, paranoia and to tip the scales in a lynching. Can become really powerful in those lategames when the Mafia is seeking majority in trials.
Mechanics: When dawn breaks without option 3 set, there is no message about a player being abducted during the night. If option 3 is set, along with the death messages the players are given a message that "<Player X> was nowhere to be seen when the sun rose".
The abducted player is notified that it has been abducted and that he/she is not able to participate in the discussions and the lynchings the following day.
Additional comments: Shows up like the jailor when investigated by an investigator. The majority vote required to put a person on trial is adjusted to a person being abducted and thus not able to vote. This is not a killing role.
