I like no Sheriff^^ Sheriff is useless, imo. Investigator + scum tells should tell you any info you need. Sheriff is a noob friendly role. :P

1) Start playing games as you have your save now, don't change it
Play around 20-25 games
2) Determine how you define balance, IE: Determine your goal
Do you want balance to be Town/NoNTown or Town/Mafia or a 33.3% split Town,Neutral,Mafia
Once you determine what you are looking for you make MINOR (KEY WORD MINOR) alterations to your save.
The smallest alterations come in the form of things like Number of Vig shots, or Number of Janitor cleanings.
Big changes are Role changes. Medium changes would be like taking a random town and making him a basic or adv town.
Slowly make changes then STOP makeing changes till you play another 20 games.
3) Record new changes and compare contrast.
4) Slowly alter save and repeat.

For example my save I define balance as Town/NonTown
I start with the most common saves found and slowly altered them till I got a 1.08-1.30:1 ratio of Town/nonTown wins.
It will bounce around a little bit- players are human and if you have 'Random' anything in your set up each game will be unique.

Keep all this in mind. This is why I stress minor changes per 25 games.

2. replace them with Random Town Basic
3. Make sure the Random Basic excludes citizen and Support (I think all the investigative roles are Basic Power, I don't remember. This is useful if you want to switch between lookout/detective/sheriff/investigator without even knowing which one it will be)

thats what i do in mine with a confirmed doctor, and random towns. sometimes a confirmed jailor/mayor, too

Probably one of the better saves in my opinion. I wouldn't quit.
No defined nuetral roles = more exciting game.

Ok if you really want a good save, here's a few tips. Make it so Godfather can't kill without mafioso. Give the mafia a consig and consort. Make sure they don't turn into mafioso, but are allowed to turn into godfather.
This is very balanced for town and mafia alike. Make sure to have no killing neuts either. An infinite exe jailor and vigi does the trick! Add a mayor with 4 votes to be creative as well, this will balance ur save just that much more. Adding an infinite alert veteran can benefit the town, but make it overpowered.

You can't really tell how good a save is in theory without testing it, just for the sake of seeing the balance ratio and the outcome of the randoms.
