"Those who sacrifice liberty for security deserve neither." -Benjamin Franklin

In Season 6 of 24, the U.S is dealing with a series of terrorist attacks on their nation that they seem powerless to stop, but President Palmer refuses to authorize a plan that interns every single American of Muslim descent, because:

Palmer: "Some of you seem to think that the Constitution only applies in wartime."
Lennox: "With all due respect, sir, the enemies of the founding fathers wore red coats and marched in a straight line, they could never have predicted the stateless enemy within our nation."

It extremely disturbs me when I talk to someone I work with (presently and in the past), who say that the abuse you must suffer at the border, or at the airport, or even arbitrarily at pedestrian checkpoints/spot checks - are necessary to preserve security. When people utter the phrase "Freedom from fear", they really should pause for 10 seconds to think about what they just said. The actions taken after 9/11 have made the country more afraid and paranoid than ever before in U.S history. You can tell you're fucking afraid when you allow unintelligent morons touch a little girl's vagina to see if she has a bomb strapped to it, while she's kicking and screaming "DON'T TOUCH ME!!!"

One was an old co-worker at my last job last year. He just had a baby girl, and loves his wife very much, but vehemently defends the right of agents of the United States to do whatever they "have to do" to him and his family in order to keep America save. I hope he's the one who restrains his daughter while the TSA agent gets his daily feel.

But you can't win a debate with morons. Do you ever boycott a store or product because you don't like their company's message or policies? The way they treat their employees? Wal-Mart because they make shitty products made in China? KFC because they abuse their chickens? Foie gras because of how the ducks are fed?

Why won't you boycott air travel in the United States again? The airlines have to pay taxes to the government to keep these low-wage traitors employed, so if they lose profits, so does the government, and they find out they're staffing a vacant airport. However, the problem with sheep is sheep move in FLOCKS, so it will be awhile until LAX airport is vacant purely out of protest.

Sheep are enablers. Discuss.
