Mafia tactics/strategy. Discuss the various tactics that you like to use in the wonderful game of mafia. Also specify which role it is best compatible with if you want. Below are some I have used successfully:

1. Claiming spy as mafia. I used this tactic pretty much ever since spy was a thing. Pretty much what you can do is: "I am spy, someone from mafia visited me so I guess I was framed." Really worked well for ALOT of my games in the past before someone did the pm spycheck. However a way to bypass the spycheck: tell one of your mafia members to say a specified spycheck at night when you are on trial. Best works with mafia roles. Fucks up when there's a real spy (but spies are sort of on the rarer side). Using this, I pretty much got away with pretending spy almost every game (at least until it becomes obvious there is no spy/I am mafia).

2. Pretend Jester as Godfather (Troll tactic?). I'll admit this isn't really a viable tactic as much as it is trolling. However I have gotten away by pretending jester while being Godfather (granted there were random neutrals on the field) quite a few times. Other times, I just get jailed. High risk, high payoff.

What are some of your favorite tactics? I'll especially like to know some strategies for Cult and Arsonist (my 2 worst roles) and perhaps even Bus Driver (worst town role).

As Godfather, I go for sheriff or investigator.
I had a game where I was GF, my Blackmailer decided not to blackmail anyone because he thought it would be useful in a pursuit to convince the town of a Framer. This came to be extremely in handy in my attempts to figure out everyone's role to defend myself as Investigator.

as mafia, I like to engage in the chatter of the day, and near the start i will inno all roles unless they are mafia (if they are mafia, it depends on their defense.)

n1, if spies are enabled, i say "tomorrow, i'm gonna pretend to be sheriff or invest and out someone as mafia or arsonist/sk"(whichever is in game)
i've done this about 4 times, and only 1 time was there a spy in the game.
It was funny, cause the next day, the sheriff claims someone is arsonist, and the spy starts freaking out and we lynch the sheriff, then lynch the arsonist the next day lol.

Also, if you have a janitor and spies an enabled, make sure you janitor the mafia too. so the spy thinks they are not a mafia member. also, if gf is jailed, janitor him. it seems like you attacked the guy in jail and he was janitored.
