Day 3 - Tragedy and Triumph

The early risers made their way to Cathedral Square, and what they witnessed there has given them great reason not to show up early again.

Laying upon the ground, Ser Berristan seemed almost as if he had fallen asleep. Only upon closer inspection could two distinct puncture wounds upon his neck be found, and it was determined that he was the next victim of the vampires that had befallen the town. When they searched his house, they found a message from Lord Dalton, giving him the authority to act undercover in the interest of the City Watch. All the guards were on edge that next day, as they realized that they might be next. A Sergeant had been killed.

He left a last will:

Eddard and Ser Davos are my top suspects after day two. Tonight I am going to check Eddard, but if you are reading this that means I unfortunately have met my untimely demise. I was going about the day chat as if I was a citizen scum-hunting, so I honestly did not expect to die tonight. Either scum saw threw my guise (unlikely) or they wanted to kill me for poking around in the wrong areas.

Watch out for Yoren. He stealth claimed neutral in the middle of the day and then later said he new who Bronn visited before Bronn revealed he was witched. Yoren very well could be the witch and he stealth claimed neutral to avoid getting killed by the mafia.

Not many took notice of him, however, as all eyes were drawn to the sight that lay in the middle of the square. Eddard, tied firmly to an overturned merchant's stand which still remained nearby even after the events of the past days, had seemingly been the victim of some terrible animal. His entire body was covered in blade wounds, each done with some meticulous work but also random in nature. His entire chest cavity seemed to have been forcefully pried open, blood still dripping from it in an irregular fashion. A majority of his organs lay strewn across the ground before him, in no particular regard or pattern, as if they had been drawn out one at a time, some even partially chewed. Other organs were missing as well, most notably his eyes, though miraculously his face remained untouched otherwise. Whomever had committed this vile act had clearly wanted them to know the message behind it, and the irony was not lost when his house was searched. Inside his home, a hidden trap door was found, leading to a secret room. Inside of it, horrible torture devices were found, along with a great deal of bladed tools still stained with blood from use, an insignia of the Children of the Night painted in blood upon the wall above the table where most of the implements lay resting. It was determined that he was none other than the Children of the Night's butcher.

Clearing away the blasphemous sight, another meeting had begun.
