Yea but then it would rule out some other roles mafia could hide behind,
like a mafioso claiming to be framed but showing up with weapons.

Bumping this because I strongly agree with the suggestion.

I'd like to add that the same should apply when a target gets framed as a framer while detection immunity for framers is on. If an investigator checks the target, it's basically proven that the target is innocent because he comes up as a framer while the framer himself would not.

Agree with this. If the Mafia is a Framer, GF, and Mafioso, the framed target Invest result should be Cit/Sinister or Weapons, rather than Leader Among Men, Framer, or Weapons. Otherwise, the Framer has a 2/3rds chance of confirming his target as non-Mafia to invests, and the point of the role is defeated.

I got a GF lynched just last night when he claimed to have been framed after I revealed him as Cit/Sinister.

JSYK the change I made is that framer frames as a random non-detection-immune role in the Mafia. If none applies, it will default to Mafioso.
