Stay hidden no matter what your role is. Things get complicated if your role is found out.
Play Town cit, power role and Scum alike or the METAHAMERZ will crush u sooner or later

Metagame
The only metagame I like is mind games between players with non-anonymous account. I'm fully capable of finding exploits, forum tracking and player-host metagaming. But those didn't seemed fun.
Emotion
It's funny when people fall for name calling and incitement. Only to be used for strategic reasons. Keep it within FM only.
Power play
Kill the strong, manipulate the weak might not always work. Roles are randomed after all. You are as likely to kill an ally as an enemy. The weak is as likely to cause your downfall. Investigate the strong because you can't read them. Doing it because the host might choose them for important roles...
Trolling
Don't like meaningless trolling. As for strategic reasons, won't be giving you ideas on how to use it.
Lurking
Players can be sorted into a kill list from the day chat. Max priority targets are likely to be protected, if protective roles think as you do. Move lower and these will be the people that might be killed, further down good for investigation, at the bottom fodder for lynching? Success rate for killing becomes higher as you move to the bottom of the list, if you know whom to kill from investigation results. Because they will never be protected nor watched. So use lurking to adjust your positions correctly.

Demand COM identities as soon as humanly possible
If ahead, get further ahead by bending every metagame concept you can possibly think of.
Make being scum as inhumanly unfun as possible so that they lose the will to fight back for easy wins.
If all else fails, you'll probably still win anyway.
You guys really need to come to an agreement on what you want. Then adjust the setup balance appropriately. The rules need not to be the same for all FMs.
Just modkill the ones stepping out of line. Apparently those who would try to step out of line value their e-peen a lot. Minus 10 points should be a big enough discouragement?
