So Jester killing a random guilty voter is cool but I got to thinking about different ways to screw with people that lynch a jester.
First, Maybe the jester can just keep annoying people even after death. It's harmless and gives the jester something to do as he has to stay to the end.
Or, Maybe instead of killing someone, he converts a random guilty voter to Jester. The good news is that guilty voter gets to keep playing, the bad is that it may not be a great punishment because who doesn't want to be a jester.
Another idea, instead of making a guilty voter a Jester, just re-roll them into another role. You could do it based on their invest message and have a Doctor change to an SK or a Godfather turns into a citizen or do it based on a role in the graveyard, or on the role list or completely random. Maybe even an option to not let the person know their role has changed until they've used their ability once.. A doctor would go to heal someone and he stabs them instead.
Instead of role switching, Maybe the jester sometimes caused a guilty voter's abilities to do something different than what it says on the role sheet. Again, A doctor could go to heal his target and stab him, or Bodyguard him, or investigate him. There could be an option to disable killing abilities if needed. I think it'd be interesting to be healing someone and instead of healing it just pops up and says "Your target is not suspicious." Or "You went to kill X." It could easily work the opposite way too. A Mafioso might heal someone instead of kill them.
Alternatively, Instead of just making a person have a chance of performing a random ability, They would add a small chance to screw up their actual ability. A doctor might accidentally kill his target or just fail to heal him if he's attacked, a Vigilante might shoot an innocent bystander, A vet might shoot himself in the foot. A Bus driver might wreck his bus killing himself and everyone on board.. Each role could have their own screw up or share their mistakes with other roles. A Vig or Vet or Mafioso could all easily hurt themselves, an Escort/consort could contract a deadly disease or a Spy/lookout could step on a stick and get seen by the mafia or person they're following. I'm sure we could come up with ways that other roles could screw up. It could be balanced by how often the screw ups occur. Something deadly like a bus crash killing 3 people would have to have a pretty low chance of happening while a Lookout getting seen by the person he was following would have a higher chance of occurring. Settings could make the mistakes repeatable or 1 off events so once they trigger they're sure not to happen again. It'd be real shitty for a Bus Driver to wreck and kill his passengers twice in 1 game but then again it'd be pretty hilarious too.
Anyways, I really just typed this because I needed something Mafia related to do while servers are down. I have no if this shit is worth implementing and I even if it was, there is the whole script limit thing preventing it.
Good Day.
