The term respite, in its literal meaning is a short delay permitted before an unpleasant obligation is met or a punishment is carried out. The first board meeting appeared to be just that with the recruits joking around and getting to know each other in a very friendly matter before the trials and tribulations of the Animus. For a moment forgetting that there were killers among them who wished, for reasons unknown to the recruits there, nothing more than to see the walls of Abstergo collapse around them in a triumphant blaze.

Vidic watched the light exchanges through security cameras and was taken aback. He realised that these people were not inducted into the Templar order and had no idea what was exactly happening here, but he thought that with 7 murders committed they would be a little less easy to trust each other. Talks of parties and shavings and xbox detracted from finding the killers. And worse, he still couldn't contact Alan Rikkin... it was as if he didn't want to be found... He must have his reasons.

As Vidic rentered the Board Room to lead them to their Animus Chambers, he made sure to remind them they were under Security Protocol Foxtrot Mike Eleven, which prevents their leaving the building and limits their social interactions to security recorded areas.

Vidic also was made aware by the analysts searching the crime scene that the Animus Network had been tampered with when the Assassins broke in... He waved it off as nothing and told the recruits to proceed with their training...

What a mistake that was...

Among them, Anson Peake could barely contain his anger when faced with Vidic, as it was Vidic and Rikkin who put a halt on Project Legacy, the project he had spent years formulating. He believed this company was going in the wrong direction and had intentions to make it his own. He too, blissfully unaware of Abstergo's true motives... intentions... and masters.

The Assassins put into this operation knew that it was a long shot. Going into the heart of enemy territory to destroy it from the inside. For now at least... they needed to play along with these Security Measures... if they were found too early they would surely be dead and all this for naught. They wished they could have done it another way rather than murdering 7 helpless recruits with no idea what was happening but... it was a needed sacrifice. Requiescat in Pace. What the Assassins didn't count on was being put into the Animi network after the changes they'd made... Increasing the amount of data flow from the memory archives into the Agent's minds as they're in the Animus has very... unpleasent outcomes for those who get desynchronized while reliving them.

They knew their lives were now at risk more so than they thought.

After this, Board meetings will last 48 hours and Animus Sessions will last 24 hours. Board Meetings will have an option to skip to Animus Session.
