It helps. What the study showed is Red meats increase your mortality by about 13% and suggests people switch those to like chicken and fish which decrease mortality by 14 and 7 percent, respectively.
Then found that Peanuts trump both of these with 19 percent.

It's actually a study a guy did over 28 years with, I think it was, 128,000 people that he was observing and came to these results.
