Wisdom Teeth Extraction

So long story short, not that it is a long story by any means, I'm waiting in the dental surgeon's office waiting to get my wisdom teeth out, all 4 at the same time. And they're making me read this long list of possible complications such as permanent nerve damage and even death. This is scary.

I had 4 teeth taken out a couple of years ago for my braces. My gums were sore for 4-5 days but it was fine after that. They weren't wisdom teeth though so I don't know if that would be worse.

At least you have dental coverage to be able to have them out. Mine have been killing me for about 6 months now and there's not shit I can do about it. Being a college student, I can't afford the shit.

I had mine taken out last summer or the summer before. It was quick and pretty much painless. All I got was a little sore. A big plus was that my dad couldn't work me to death for a good week or so XD also the only other pain is not being able to eat certain foods for a while. Also don't forget to get the syringe and spray out your gums.

So don't worry about it. It's not bad at all.

Ash, here's my experience, as I had mine out in grade 12:

They gave me gas before putting the IV in, and I woke up and they were done. Are you getting knocked out? Then you have nothing to worry about. The chance of serious complications is so nil. If you're staying awake, and only getting local, if you feel any pain, STOP THEM, actually push them off if you have to (just saying).

When I was done, I didn't really need to bitch about the after-pain. Yeah, it ached, and my mouth was swollen for awhile. They give you painkillers for it. My dentist recommended I have a Wendy's Frosty right after, and mom got me one. It was hard to keep it in my mouth, as I kept dripping blood into the cup LOL.

Yeah the bleeding (taste of blood in your mouth doesn't really go away for a bit....) and the swelling is probably the worst of it. The aches and soreness weren't that bad.
