They can. There are some conditions where death notes don't work, like if they get hit multiple times and both people try to death note.

Ok sorry, as a witch you can set a death note, but it won't ever show up even if you kill.
Which is why I was confused, because I remember setting them.

I once was a Witch, with 3 players left. I knew that there was a Mafioso, and I knew that I would die. There was a Bus Driver as the final town, but the risk was too high. Since I knew I was going to be targeted, I had the Mafioso target himself, and then I killed myself. My death note was shown when he died. That is how you leave a death note as a Witch.

Because the Mafioso was either targeting me, or the Bus Driver. There was a 50% chance of losing. Additionally, the Town identified me as a "confirmed" Detective, meaning that I wouldn't have been able to save myself by claiming Witch.

If the Mafia team weren't such big assholes to me, they could've won. Disproving a player based on their name and calling them a stalker and British bitch would piss anyone off. Since they decided to fuck with me, I followed my name, Yandere, and kept the theme alive. I killed the both of us, my "lover", and myself. The Mafia lost, the Town won, and the audience had a blast.

True, never trust mafia when you are witch. 9 times out of 10 they will kill you after you help them get majority...

Unless i misunderstood the earlier scenario you could have killed the mafioso and still won the tie vs busdriver, right? WITCH WINS
