I think its complete and utter bullshit that someone can be kicked for lagging by a patron. Blizzard has a vote-kick method for Mafia for lag just like any other game. I feel that this is abuse of their priveledge, and should have to wait out the timer to see if their lag spike subsides, just like any other custom game or regular map. Complete bullshit and abuse of power.

Don't believe patrons can kick. Landstander is a mod and can. If u feel he is abusing his power, you can always make a report and attach the replay in the player report section of this forum.

Here's the thing... We are unable to kick while the timer is going down. If the timer comes up 3-4 times within a few moments and keeps going down and back up, we have grounds to suspect people are forcing lag to lag cheat. Also, it tends to make the populace in general really irate. We will take your complaint into consideration.

I think it is common practice to demand the lagger to leave, timer or not. Lags without timers normally comes with a warning beforehand though. Even if there is no mod, the others will start raging and demand the lagger to leave anyways.

it was seriously from between the time i named my toon, and got into the game...20-30 secs tops. if i didnt think it would subside, i wouldnt have joined to begin with. immediately after i was in another game w 0 lag. was a "less than a minute" issue.

Then it's not Landstander's fault. Town lost already if he intends to gamethrow. Kick or not. Even ifhe said that, how do you know that he was not trolling. Can't judge until the innocent vote actually went through.

What I'm saying is moderators are just human wielding god-like powers. They are not god.

They can prevent the more obvious stuff like spamming, cursing, harassment and such by removing the offending players. But they can't really prevent last minute gamethrowing, warning or not. The initial pre-game start announcement that gamethrowing is an offense have to suffice.
