Keep It Serious

This isn't the place for YouTube videos, one-answer questions with little to no debate in them or threads with no real topic. If you have nothing to add, say nothing at all or your post will be deleted with no comment on the matter. Threads will be locked if the addition was needless.

Keep Your Cool

Try not to directly attack the poster of the thread, don't go overboard and refrain from screaming at your monitor. They really don't like it.

Keep It Neat

Huge blocks of text, something everyone can be guilty of, are difficult to read. Try pressing enter a few times, and sometimes draw attention to certain words to make them more important. But all in moderation of course. Large font sizes are discouraged.

Don't reply to horrible threads just to make fun of how horrible they are

If you think a thread is useless, don't bump it by posting in it. That's what General Discussion is for.

Use descriptive thread titles and post in the right subforum

Seriously. Your post will be moved or deleted.

Conversation

Unless you're replying to the point in a persons sentence using their example, don't comment idly about their avatar or how cool you think someone is, unless it's just in agreement. These posts will slide if they lead back to meaningful discussion, otherwise they may disappear.

Use Your Common Sense

Yeah. I know this encompasses everything, but common sense is practically a modern day superpower.

There are exceptions to these rules and they may be changed at any time without prior notice. They are effective immediately, and are subject to moderator interpretation.

Spelling, Grammar, and Punctuation

This is Serious Discussion, where the importance of readability is paramount. A couple of mistakes here and there, tolerable. 4 mistakes per sentence? Not a chance. Proofread your writing, people.

Length

Length requirement? You bet. 1 or 2 sentences in your opening post will not be accepted. If you can't think of more to write, it's not Serious Discussion material.

Not interested at all. Said this a lot of times before. Much less freedom. More responsibilities. Crimson can be one lol. He can do the worrying.

Got too much of this leader and position stuff during my childhood. Got sick of them. Sure, it might help in your self-esteem and resume in the long run. But looking back, they bind you down. Can't really relax and enjoy life. Work while others have fun. Have to maintain the reputation of the group you represent. The hope from higher ups. Crushing, really. Anyway, for first-timers it should be fun and a nice learning experience. Too bad for me even my first experience was not a good one.

Back to topic, the thread starters can actually "moderate" their own thread. Just label it as for serious discussion or something if you don't want people to troll your thread. Report violator for spamming infraction or something. We do have some good discussion threads back in COM. Then again, they are less likely to spam and troll if they have nothing to contribute. Everyone more of less moderate themselves.
