I want to slight tl the people that self voted for president because what else do you do n0 with no communication and no pfps to observe.
I want to slight tl the people that self voted for president because what else do you do n0 with no communication and no pfps to observe.
Why'd you vote Alien?
Anyway, assuming Purple Forest and Zoomer Power self-voted, which seems likely, then that leaves 2 unexplained votes for Viking in Green Nya, Snippy, and Tiny Sandwich. I'm... confused what to think about that, since there's the question of why w!Viking wouldn't self-vote..
It was mostly about the earlier conversation from closer to start of game.
@FM-Smug Viking
Why did you end up voting Pink Slip?
I'm trying to bounce between a thought on Raincoat cat because their posts are like ~fine, but feel mildly uninterested in the game as a whole, and seem to kind of lack a sort of towny spunk I feel should be present. I'll put them on my watchlist.
@FM-Orange Iris
Could you expand on what you mean here? Preferably with some recorded evidence and a live studio audience! [Citations]
@FM-Angry Clown
Ack, thank you. Have you poked into any more scumreads since the game's begun? Actually, speaking of; I'm still voting a townread of mine aren't I.
-vote FM-Bosun
I'll remedy that.
I forgot what I wanted to say here so can we all pretend I gave some really towny and insightful commentary to this post. Thank you.
Hm.
I think despite a vague appreciation for this slot that the gimmick might make understanding them hard unless I wish to scour an ISO. :o[
Hm...
This post is odd, I think I can see this from a town but it seems to feel mildly unintuitive for most villagers to think this. Its hard because you need to both couple with a sense of being uninformed of whether or not the mafia knew the effect of the election or not and whether you think that mafia would... presumably out to vote coordinate? Which I think someone else commented on earlier and I might have quoted, unsure! But keeping that in mind, I'd still probably posit that any train of presidential votes is unlikely to have many mafia on them? As such I do also kind of think its stupid to attack Viking for getting votes as well, I think there's too many factors that make this an unreliable took to find scum; and Viking is honestly kind of a billboard account (name/icon) to gain votes inherently.
{This is mildly a collection of miscellaneous thoughts with one focus, but that's kind of where its jiving.}
In general I do feel like D1 is the time to overstate reads though. There's not really a bad reason to give some reachy reads when you're uninformed. Just means you need to tighten the corral for what you consider towny further on in the game after it. Or so they say. I don't really think that D1 is all bad so far, no real reason to be a doomer.
I don't really think Pink Slip is a wolf and I felt decent reasons to townread Ryast earlier that I forgot. Hm. [That coupled with the Snail post I quoted is making me a bit uncertain but I still don't really feel like focusing on them today.]
Sure, I'll take Great Speech from my scumleans then for now. I can see myself being more aggravated by tone rather than content here.
...Okay yeah that is vaguely my thoughts but I am mildly annoyed that you only looked at Bosun when someone else pointed you there and not when I asked you to. Hmph.
@FM-Aliens Are Real
Why no accounting for Gay Cat Rock in your lurker list? When Gay and Tiny showed up last night my instinctive reaction between the pair (aside from being tired) was that they provided a similar amount of content (which is to say little).
I do want to hold out with townreading Pink, mostly for the same reasons as Snail, given that the wordlview and perspective offered feels wholly authentic in a way that a villager is more likely to sloppily slop into thread.
I forgot any conclusions I made after this post. Sorry, I'm not sure I'm cut out for D1s.
Hello I'm back!!!
Nevermind you claimed nobody.
@FM-Ryast get in here and solve this game.
Agree that it's not really possible to indicate whether voting or not / voting for someone is necessarily towny specifically because we don't know the details of the event and what wolves do/don't know about it.
If wolves assumed/knew it was something positive, there's probably a wolf among top vote candidates. If they thought it was negative, I feel like they'd spread votes around away from themselves with whatever reason they think is justifiable.
As town I think voting for yourself is the townier than not voting.
Will do so!
...reading through their post more carefully, I find the wording of "where the pendulum swings fastest" to be a strange contrast with the read actually expressed underneath, namely a confident unpairing... but actually no, that's probably fine, since they are weighing Pink Slip and Snail's arguments against eachother.
Shrug, I also looked at every player's profiles pre-game-start. I had nothing better to do.
@FM-Angry Clown
Hm. Okay. Maybe I need to look back over then but I'm still more prone to trust my own read so far.
@FM-Zoomer Power
I'm not really interested in picking apart your reasons to scumread me because I don't really feel like its in bad faith from you and I have other priorities. If you want to attempt to speak with me on any other reads or discussions, feel free to <3. I'd be especially interested on your thoughts with notice to what you said in #761, on Mountain Dew individually, as well as someone else who I've noted to be mildly cahooting with them; Angry Clown.
Oh wait that's the post that the post I link just quoted. Helpful for reference regardless; especially feeling like Horse is just fading a bit and I've not really been aware of that slot's presence much.
Finally caught up,
Conclusion is a bit of a strong word since I've been mostly busy reading, trying to remember who is who with the avatars. When I was online most of the first day, there was so much fluff/jokes/RPing going on that nothing really pinged me in a note worthy way the required reaction to (save for Iris). There are a lot of posts that I agree with, and plenty that I disagree with, but almost all those posts relate to playstyles, common meta, and general information, nothing that really indicates alignment one way or another. In terms of the meatier matters, which happened after I went to bed yesterday, I barely had a chance to process what I read on my phone this morning before heading out. I still need to reread those 400ish posts. Off the top of my head, this is what I feel on people:
Aliens Are Real - President, has extra votes, possibly other abilities that he does not wish to share, mods confirmed extra votes, has a case against pink slip that I want to go ISO read for myself since his mega post only had post numbers and didn't really add context.
Angry Clown - annoying RP, didn't take note of anything substantial without looking at his ISO
Bosun - lots of obvious scumtells posted as jokes, either waiting to see who will take his bait or is just annoying, was using him to test reactions on others but he is still following the same mentality instead of changing gears, thus faking activity and coasting, a negative in my books. (on a sidenote, with all the talk about smug viking, I thought people were talking about him with his boat and ya har har avatar.. certainly got confused between the two and need to reread now that I have differentiated the two)
Dirty Harry - san, chan, sama.. had a hard time reading this guys posts, not sure if this is deliberate to make me ignore the contents. Content wise, I find it lacking save for 1 post where he tries to contribute to snippy, slip jiffy argument and even that I had a hard time following because he called someone Slippy... is he referring to slip or snippy.
Fast Fish - spent the first part of the day deliberately and obviously taking all the bait he could eat, intentionally failing reaction tests to the point that he himself became a reaction test for others. He continues to deliberately antagonize people so far as to leave the thread when asked a question. He is acting so scummy it is obvious that he wants us to know he is acting scummy. Then in the middle of all those jokes and fluff, there are a few reads of his own, although most of his non joke posts are asking other for reads instead of posting his thougths.. To me, he is useful as in he is bait that causes reactions, reactions that shouldn't happen if someone is paying attention to what he is actually doing.
Gay Cat Rock - who?
Great Speech - vaguely remember his avatar, he showed up later thus I haven't reread enough to remember what he said.
Green Nya - who?
Happy Drunk - I remember agreeing to his posts, but forget what he said - nothing negative caught my eye to note down.
Jiraffe - like I said earlier, I need to revisit the argument now that I'm on my pc to get a clearer view with context how that started (phones suck for mafia, need to see avatars to remember people in anon games)
Lady of the Lake - small text asshole who proudly voted for Aliens, hated reading his posts, only notable contribution I liked was he resolved the "how did you see the avatars before game" question before I had a chance to question clown myself.
Lolcat - who?
Lovely Bug - who?
Mountain Tops - I know I've seen his avatar but can't remember what he posted, I don't think it was as much nonsense as the others
Mtn Dew Horse - had an ok start but quality dropped when he came back later in the game, might be because of IRL time or like me, catching up is harder to remember everything when you aren't reading it live. I also get the impression he is deliberately trying to mask his identity by pretending to not know how to vote, could be real but that is the vibe I'm getting and I can't expand much on this publicly without risking the wrath of the mods.
My Plants - playstyle is quick to conclusions without really digging deeper, will take note when the real voting starts how he gets on and off wagons to judge
Orange Iris - radioman RP (I hear Donny Vermillion voice from SC2 reading his posts, bad vibes just from that, I hated Donny), while I agree with his post about some people don't read their role PM and how effective it can be, I've done it myself in the past, his quote at fish with it, still has me puzzled, maybe I didn't read Fish the same way as he did but either way it's his post where he built a case against me, laid out his thoughts and peaced out before I could reply, I even agree with part of his post about the paranoid town who suspects everyone (that is my playstyle regardless of alignment). His "and perhaps I'll support this vote in the future." is a red flag for me as he let Wine and Snail do the heavier lifting. But the fact he also said it aloud is double wifom for me.. haven't pieced how exactly to view him yet but I certainly have bad vibes. The persistent newsman RP giving out general commentary of what others have said is bugging me more than anyone else at this time.
Pink Slip - need to reread with context before I say much, but initial thoughts was I agreed with most general statements made by him, can't remember much though and certainly need to ISO him
Purple Forest - scares me playstyle wise, found myself agreeing with him too much for my liking, feel like he might pocket me if I'm not careful.
Raincoat Cat - who?
Ryast - soo many posts it's mostly a blur what all he said, I remember disagreeing with him and accusing him for over the top reactions on why I didn't ping aliens but I didn't really pay attention to his mass post catch up.
Sassy Witch - who?
Smug Viking - I thought he was Bosum (avatar).... can't remember who he actually is
Snail Streamer - not a fan of the streamer RP but it's not as dominating in your posts like some others, disagree with you mafia being more active n0 but can't comment on why (rules). You obviously don't like me mech hunting about the president role but the way I see it, if mafia get info about it, they aren't gonna share any of it with us and the president role is very much part of my responsibility since it requires voting. I get Ryast complaining I didn't ask Aliens about the role and you complaining I am asking about it for those who voted Aliens. And that is as far as I got reading you because I am emotionally biased now, not to mention to went after fish bait right after that.
Snippy - guy with scissors, part of argument that happened while I slept and only skimmed over with phone in the morning, need to reread
Tiny Sandwich - who? ok, I saw him most recently but I didn't take note anything about him
Wasteland - who? he voted me? I didn't even notice that
White Square - mad about his own avatar fluff... and screw you for making your font small! only post I liked was his reverse course on the great speech even though I didn't look into it myself
Wine Mom - Her vote on me feels influenced by Iris, even the post she voted me has no context to the vote. But later posts show that she is just very confident and bullies her opinion around freely even with anyone else, don't like the playstyle, gives bad vibes that she jump on me without context and moved on as if nothing happened but I've seen this in either alignment from certain players.
Zoomer Power - who?
Now - looks like there is another 50 posts that I need to read before diving into what happened during the IRL night.
I actually think I'm going to treat president votes as NAI until we have more information about the event as a whole, especially after someone brought up the possibility of rigging.
Snippy is on my radar for p#248 which feels less like real reads and more like trying to force anything they can to look like they're contributing.
@FM-Purple Forest
In addition: I have some suspects: Incognito (Explained already), Pink Slip (mostly based on Alien's reading, I disagree with him only in one point and I told that about, also I dislike Pink's votes jumping around, see vote history), Green Nya (low activity, no any uselful post), Lovely Bug (scumreads Fisn, but voted Mountain without any explainations). But I can't say some of them 100% scum for me.
This is my gut feeling for a wolf hit.
-vote FM-Mountain Tops
I mean, sure, but I'm much in the same spot. Uhhhhh, there's not a whole lot onto my mind right now, there's a mild web of names I wouldnt mind some sorting between (Zoomer/Clown/Horse/Speech/Bosun), as well as some misc names that general thoughts on could be nice <Iris/Gay Cat/Pink Slip/Ryast/Jiff>
That's... probably roughly it, generally finding the placement of players and the reasoning to be not very matching {which mildly pinged my scum radar but hm.}
Presidential votes are generally not something that we can read a lot into right now with so much of an unknown factor, and knowing that the prize of it is simply bonus vote power makes me not... really care about it anyway. [Noted, if the wolves knew that the presidential prize was vote power, they likely would not want another wolf to get the vote power, unless they thought said wolf could deepwolf the game regardless. Which... I dunno, maybe? Aliens does have pretty good posts so far that I could expect a good wolf to pull off, but I'm not really suspecting them regardless.]
I just realized I accidentally skipped an entire page, will go sort through that in a bit.
Hm, what's the account for brining up Green Nya of the low activity slots over the others?
Also noted, I'm not really sure I'd say I'm 100% on any of my current scumreads either.
Overall I... don't get a lot from this. It's evidently a wall made out of obligation, and probably >rand wolf, but I'd want to dig into some specific interactions here..
@FM-Incognito , can you elaborate on your thoughts here. What specifically did you like? Can you go look into the argument in more detail, and say what you think about it?
To be clear, just because I’m presenting my opinions strongly does not mean I’m intending to be rude so apologies if it came across that way. I’m not reading everything so if you previously asked me about my vote on you it probably went unanswered because I did not see it, so I would ask to be pinged.
Not sure what you mean by my read on you being influenced by Iris — I don’t really recall any posts from that player at all apart from the early role playing. I voted you because I felt unsure about Bosun being scum and felt that your reads on them (i.e. being annoying for voting sleep but otherwise towny) was not genuine. Case in point, I have never seen anyone get truly annoyed by an RVS sleep vote two hours into the day. Yes, I called you Bosun’s partner for that post when I first saw it because it fit the mold of scum seeing their buddy being pushed and feeling obligated to comment on the slot while shading them but not actually adding on to the push in any meaningful way and simultaneously discrediting the push by calling the rest of their posts unremarkable.
Like I said, feel free to ping for more questions.

Hopefully I see more posts from more people in the later pages. Notably I liked the entrances of Pink Slip (general tone/productivity) and Lovely Bug (melding) on page 7.
I remember not liking Bosun very much on the first few pages, the rest of those names in your web I don't really have much of an opinion on, once I'm caught up I will update you. Gave some thoughts on Pink Slip below, I think Iris roleplaying as a reporter has masked their posts in a way that makes them hard for me to read, I think them prodding people about the election is good and some of their recent posts I've seen on these pages were okay but I'd need to see more to give anything other than a "not villagery but not wolfy" read.
Agreed, I don't know if it does more than just the votes but I think it won't be super fruitful to try and read people off of. I don't mind asking everyone to claim their vote though - I don't see how it could harm anything and keeping track at least gives us something, however minuscule.
> on Pink Slip below
above, actually, in one of my posts below yours but above mine in the reply. Oops.
JIF's bait vote feels real. And I like Pink Slip's reaction when joining the train (even though the starter vote was bad), I am not liking any of Snippy's posts right now.
???
>Wolf!Dew throws out a lamist argument to scumpaint T!Purple but doesn't do anything with it because it's a fake read.
Dew was not doing that - they had something positive and something negative, and ended with null:
> Or W!Mountaintop presses a T!Dew to make him look silly but it doesn't go anywhere.
And why do you think this is more likely than T!Me saying a read?
My poor feline eyes absolutely cannot read these super small fonts. Going to need to use reading mode or something to force default so I can see what LotL is saying.
@FM-Great Speech
Hi, I've realized I townread you now, sorry! I also definitely misconstrued the amount of presence that I had and that Ryast had as of yet. Thank you for keeping me updated though, I do appreciate it (and these posts helped me find you at least.)
I'm not... huge on Bosun's return to thread and still think they're >rand scum here. Particularly bolded feels like something just to *say* soemthing whild also failing to actually place an opinion on Viking here? As well as the tiff with Great Speech makes them feel very. uhm, posturing? In an attempt to feel like theyre placing strong points but ultimately failing to? Like who cares if Great Speech is hedging on Snail. Snail is literally the most nebulous player in the game right now. What's Bosun's read on Snail here? What's the point here? I have
Sure.
-vote FM-Wasteland
I think it means you are an outed wolf :hmmyes:.
This post feels so forced to me. Like a wolf that's trying to sneak by slacking. There's been so much more to comment on in this game than just the president election. 4/7 of their posts are about the election and not in a constructive way like Happy Drunk. I like the train here and I'll join it for now.

...I fear I might be townreading mostly active posters hm. I do think there's likely at least one (and max 2) in Snail/Ryast/Bosun.
I think most needed players to look into for now are like... <Ryast/Harry/Viking/Gay Cat Rock/Clown>. Which means I won't.
I should probably note that I have no clue how to word my suspicion on Lovely Bug, I just do. Sorry (your icon is really cute though v.v).
This is actually a pretty good callout but I want to offer you a question:
Do you think a wolf makes those five posts pretty much back-to-back with seemingly very little consideration as to their contents? I am not sure that a wolf goes straight from "no they have 60 posts you can't find them null" to basically asserting that they have no strong read on them whatsoever. A wolf probably plays that differently. With that said I'm not sure that I'm willing to give them a pass for the rest of the day but the fluidity of their thoughts gives me pause before putting them in the scum bucket.
I liked that fact that he went back to read the context on Ryast and I agree that wolves can reverse their course on d1 with ease. As for the interaction Ryast had with plants / or more like commentary Ryast did on plants. Ryast is very open with his small reads on pretty much everything, I don't see the link between that behavior and alignment, I can surely use it later when reads become more solid but day 1 I agree that Speech was more on a smear campaign against a high poster rather than trying.. That doesn't mean I like Ryast, but on this I can agree with him.
This type of shitpost vote halfway into the day just screams "I don't know how to fake contribution today".
@FM-Wasteland If this is a legitimately placed vote I need something much more substantial from you than this to justify it.
Then I have misread you. The timing of your vote with the lack of context made me think that you didn't like my interaction with Iris and it pushed you over the edge to vote me. If its really the Bosun thing, then meh, like I indicated in the above post, I was reading him as obviously joking and wasn't taking him seriously at the time, I guess you took both of us a little more serious than I intended.
Part of my issue is that even though every player has checked in it still feels like I'm missing half the thread. And that hasn't been an issue with me failing to interact with people. Every time I've been here I've been analyzing and referencing different people. It just feels like so many people are completely missing.
You might be right but also right now I want to believe I'm correct so I will let myself think about this later okay?
