Get rid of survivor.

There's so much potential for a better role. Several just on these forums seem far more fun and purposeful than this lame role.

Executioner who won = survivor
Jester who's been discovered= survivor
Even a witch in scenarios where her control is unnecessary to win, just vote my mafia/evil role = survivor

The idea of a survivor who can just vote with the winning side already happens with other roles. 90% of games I play with a survivor, he claims day 1 or 2 and inevitably wins. Why wouldn't he win?

I prefer getting EVERY role in the game over survivor, its like not even playing sometimes. I hate the role and I hate setups that end up having the role. I'm sure a lot of people agree with me here. I think in general, the approach of improving a role instead of removing it is the right way to go (coroner, citizen, etc.) but I see no room for improvement. To me, the concept is just too much BENIGN and not enough neutral.

Yes, it has its very small impacts on the game, but with the script limit maxed, think about what you'd rather have: Survivor or a new role?

Survivor adds a unknown factor to the game. For example, if I am Witch, I look at the roles list and realize I am Witch through Random Neutral, I claim survivor. This puts in question of the town, am I Serial Killer lying, investigator checks me and sees I am a loner. People are, often times, very trustworthy of neutral roles. Survivor is a swing vote, but also a place holder for deception in the game. I personally love being survivor because I am free to do whatever I want. I don't have to be on either team, I don't have to set a goal, just chill and never die. Then everyone begs me to vote with them.

Its really just become an AFK to victory role, whether people want to admit it or not. A scapegoat for the witch is the only thing I can think of that would make me miss.


And my original point was that because of the script limit, we cant have new roles. Clearly people want a new role and the only way this seems possible is to get rid of one. Pros and Cons. How much would you really miss a role like this, if it meant replacing it with something new and awesome?

The next person to criticize the survivor is going to get trolled by yours truely. It's a GOOD role ok? Just because it can't kill or do interesting shit doesn't mean it isn't vital to the game. Survivor is actually one of my favorite roles next to the Spy and Jailor.

I like the Survivor. Having 4 Vests is better than having 1. If anything, the Survivor is like a night-immune Amnesiac. Since he can win with anybody, he's the ultimate ally.

Roles like the survivor, jester, and immune at night executioner are roles that are there for you to kinda cut loose and enjoy not being so tightly bound to the honor of making sure your faction wins no matter what.

In my opinion they are probably the most enjoyable roles to come across when you're having a bad string of games or whatnot, they probably become a bit tiresome if you get them often because you run out of fun things to do with them but every once in awhile they're great(the exception to this is the immune to death executioner which is by the far the funnest role in the game and never gets old).

My advice is to not play it serious tryhard face, but to dick around. You're a lot less likely to die or be attacked if you make it clear you are survivor(or you can taunt them into attacking you off the bat and if you're lucky all the killing roles will see you are immune and stop attacking you) and then save the rest of your vests for the inevitable string of betrayals that befalls every young survivor in their time of innocence.

I troll hardcore as survivor. I sing songs and act suspicious. I sang Survivor by Destinys child the whole game and lived to the end to win. I even got accused of being a Jester when I kept singing on trial and was claimed innocent.

I think Citizen is the most boring role. They need something else to do to keep it interesting. Doesn't have to be anything that will affect the game.

You are your own faction. It doesn't matter who wins as long as you are alive. Fuck with EVERYONE. Chances are both sides wont go out of their way to kill you. Your loyalty is expected to shift as one faction gains power over the other - with the usual case being once Mafia can begin to first rip power away from the town.

A good troll survivor will always go against the interests of the town as that is where the majority of players will end up.



Try claiming mayor and refuse to reveal. That's always a good one. If you're going to be hanged and you know it, don't bother fighting it. The rage after they take down the survivor is great.

No. Survivor plays a huge role in most of Mafia games, and people use it to avoid lynches/deaths which is an excellent strategy.

I still stand by my original statement that survivor is a fun role. Non-stop trolling on public game. The best part is you never get lynched and mafia/sk never try to kill you once you announce it.
