okay @aamirus new challenge
find my fb account
or actually
I retract my statement
DO NOT
DO THAT
but I'm prretty sure you can't
I don't have a first name
I'm Scottish
you'll never guess it lololol
my first name is Slavic
cuz I'm half-polish
my name IRL is a slavic name
and it means
'Ruler'
the first part of it
anyway
aamirus10/05/2018
well i guess i could get the name from ur WoW account but honestly
i don't really want to
Oberon MacGanelon MacMagoroth10/05/2018
DON'T
Yeah, but in Romanian the name doesnt actually mean anything lol. That would sooner point to me being Russian. Or even Polish, like I claimed.
my first name is Slavic and it means'Ruler'
I'm not here to argue in tandem with Aamirus with but you very clearly lay it out right here after goading her to figure it out. Honestly, play stupid games win stupid prizes.
I also have 100% pRoOf that Distorted agrees with me, but I won't be posting it.

I suppose thats a fair point but it doesnt explain how she found my Facebook. There are a million Vlads out there and variations on Vlad/Vladislav/Vladimir with different spelling, including Wład and derivatives. And my WoW account had already been hacked and had most likely been deleted.
Regardless of how it was done, staff doxing people is pretty fucked up no matter how its done.
Btw I never mentioned the entire name of my WoW account and it was quite a long name...
Semi-related on your conspiracy theory note, I checked the IP of Vlad The Impaler in a FM game Aamirus was in and confirmed in a moderated post that it was Light_Yagami in post game discussion. My reason for noting this is Light_Yagami isn't restricted from playing FM on his normal account so letting staff know he is using a smurf account lets them be aware if he was to potentially sign up using both accounts.
I don’t think I found your Facebook I just jokingly said that id found it and I was keeping the pictures for my spank bank. Even if someone did look on your profile on here I don’t see how that would lead them to the correct Facebook account unless you have some super unique name. I agree that a staff member doxxing people would be wrong but I literally didn’t dox you

Very true! For far too long, social media has been censoring without control! We will repeal Section 230!
Intellectual growth comes from discussions, not arguments. If you are unwilling to change your position and hear the other persons side you are closed minded and wasting your time.
If you can not clearly explain what the other sides reasoning is you can not disagree with their position because you do not understand it.
I found the best defense to a Doxx is to just Doxx yourself. Many years back some hacker thought I would give a fuck if they released my name on the forum so I pushed it up a bit and posted my address and phone number to show how few fucks I gave. Never once got a pizza (Unlike Necroplant who Psyduck gave generous amounts of troll pizzas)
In my first skype AmA I even posted my real social security number.
Trolls only care about what you want to hide. Show you have nothing to hide and they loose interest.

Im a bit lost on the context and I do not hold the permissions I once did to read through stuff on this site/game by my own request once I understood my impulse control was degenerative but I will get involved as much as necessary. My judgement has never been compromised and I do not think I ever made a call I regretted. I would still maintain that anyone can message me on a decision I made regardless of how much time has passed so feel free to hit me up on the issue if you feel the need. I am pretty obsessed with patterns these days and if there is a real systemic issue I do still consider this site my home and would push for change.
I do agree with you that Frog was not given a fair shake but he is a bit of a powerhouse that rubbed the existing power structure the wrong way. At one point he pushed me to just take over the leadership on this site but I have a moderate obsession with eliminating bias and that hurt my friendship with him. To this day I would easily consider him one of the best players this website has created in ability if not in the conflicts that come from FPS and tact.
A lot of what I have been digging into recently is human nature and one thing I have found that pushing 'a problem exists' jumps to the conclusion of 'what change should be made' without considering 'is a change necessary or even beneficial?' Oops voiced that well but I would double down on it and ask that you consider the difference between a problem and a pattern of problems that represent a systemic issue in need of change.

Thanks for the offer. Its not something I really want to pursue at the moment but I will keep that in mind.
As for your last paragraph, Bruno brought up a great point that I think covers at least part of the problem - theres so many staff nowadays, more than there were when the site had ~50 users left. I think thats pretty good evidence of something being afoul with the site itself.
I do believe this is indicative of a systemic issue on our website: theres been an infraction almost every other game. This leads to an extremely hostile climate where people are more likely to bypass human communication as a solution for personal conflicts and go straight to staff. And that will end up making the people in question hate the staff; i.e. exactly the situation we are in now.
I think what needs to happen is every staff member needs to be looked at quite closely to see if they are actually necessary, and if they aren’t, sack them and only leave a skeleton crew. For instance I do not believe more than 2 FM Staff are necessary... IMO those two should be AIVION and MM since they complement each other well. AIVION has good instincts and MM is passionate about FM.
I explicitely requested for someone to apply to FM staff because it was necessary to maintain efficient activity and to avoid bias, to get multiple points of view, as well as to have people help manage the projects. Also, we have 3 FM staff members. The rest are on the Arcade side of things. That is not more than before: back when I joined, when we had a hard time filling 13Ps, there was Mesk514 as Head of FM, and Deathworlds + RLVG as FM Moderators; the amount of FM staff has actually always been around 3 in history, if I'm not mistaken.
You do bring up a GREAT point about human relations, though. People need to learn to work things out without setting things on fire all the time. And if I may add something, hosts are responsible of the moderation of their game. In many, many cases, host action in-game (warnings, monitoring, and force replacements if necessary) would prevent any infractions from having to be given. I encourage hosts to actively moderate their games. I think I can speak in the name of staff saying that we don't enjoy giving punishments, and we don't enjoy when there's shit to deal with after games because people did XYZ bad things. It would be MUCH better if the community was to self-moderate; it has the tools to do so (hosts can literally blacklist people they don't want in their games, and they can enforce their own game rules). But as long as that doesn't happen, you can't surprise yourself if staff takes the necessary steps.
For someone who doesnt enjoy giving out punishments you sure do it a lot. Also, I agree hosts need to be more responsible and shit but what you still dont realize is that with such a small community you cant afford to infract/ban people left and right. There was very little overmoderation or moderation if any kind. Most of the staff work was put into growing the community by reaching out to people; stuff peoplr likr SJ are good at. I may have been a little harsh on SJ when I was still staff.
Instead, what staff do now is infract people 24/7 on a site with 10 active players.
or maybe hosts dont punish behavior that they dont deem to be problematic in their game? hmm
I don't think the people on this forum hate the staff. It's just Oberon here making up shit. "Vocal minority" is the term here I think?. And Oberon is extremely vocal, averaging at 10 posts a day since his join date.

I have things in mind for growing the community and doing fun stuff, background work that you do not see
But it's being put on pause for the duration of the riots, because there's no point in engaging into this as long as things are on fire.
Also, your first sentence is sincerely insulting, especially since you once were staff and saw how we proceeded. And if I may add, you weren't exactly opposing the giving of punishments, so don't be an hypocrite.
I had a part of this exact thought earlier. It definetly isn't fair to say that "people hate staff". Even those questioning what staff does are, for the most part, simply saying they believe things should be done differently, and that isn't to be put into a "bucket of haters".
However, there is an objection I must put. Saying "oberon is just making up shit" is a bit harsh; having a point of view that goes against staff's isn't necessarily making shit up. And this may be a bit off-topic, but I think this is a big reason why some people aren't following sanitary directions... anyway.
I called the issue of the player count out years ago. The issue stems from the fact the player draw for this site is pretty much exclusively the SC mod and the SC arcade player base has tanked. This is largely because the old leadership in Blizzard has left after Activision took a heavier role and all Activision wants to do right now is push live service crap for micro transactions. They have no intention on updating SC2 in the future past so there will be no new influx in players.
I worked with Superjack and Firebringer way back when trying to set up cross community games to create a player draw but that never really took off and many were resistant to the idea of having our players play on another website.
I kind of think this site has always been pretty toxic as far as our interactions. This is probably one of the most abrasive and trolly communities I have ever been a part of. As you describe it though thats less of a staff issue and more of a community one for our little subculture.
A long time ago one of the things I pushed hard for was separation of power. It was pretty bad with Arcade staff jumping into FM staff issues (or the reverse) and led to constant conflicts. As Marshmallow pointed out theres very many staff but very few that touch on FM stuff. Also FM is a weird animal that kinda needs a diverse set of opinions. Its less about moderating the players and more about managing the game setups.
I kind of think of a parallel to cops today. Its a service to police and moderate a society but they are hated for it. We just don't have the moral fiber as a generation to accept punishment with grace. Its so much easier to say "That staff is an asshole" than it is to hold yourself accountable and say "I was wrong." I am not saying thats true for every issue but I do think its a contributing factor to how staff in general are viewed on both the FM and Arcade sides.

6 months ago there was so much hate for having "inactive reds" and "secret illuminati". So we reorganized and made the segregation of responsibilities more clear. No good deed goes unpunished.

Sorry for bringing this up almost a week over the last post. However, I need to say this for a friend who was unjustly treated.
The screenshot Oberon posted(1) shows that aamirus admitted to doxxing him. Here's the exact quote:
"I was just bored waiting for my shift to end and you goaded me into it sorry. Anyway I'm not gonna go on the Facebook again I already forgot the details"
I don't know how she managed to do it since Oberon only gave her hints about his first name, but it's undeniable that she was the perpetrator. Based on the Discord logs rumox posted, Oberon clearly didn't want aamirus to search for his Facebook account.
The question is, where do we go from here? The Sc2Mafia community is rife with racism, inappropriate sexual comments, pedophiliac names and comments, sexism, and anti-LGBTQ sentiments. Clearly, all of this stuff is wrong and, to be honest, my hands aren't clean here. Sc2Mafia members and staff may realize the things they see are wrong, but since it doesn't personally affect them, they rarely do anything about it and sometimes even participate in it. I think the lack of any real change is partly caused by apathy. When I learned that aamirus didn't get punished for doxxing Oberon, I wasn't surprised.
However, I feel unsafe with aamirus as a site administrator. Aamirus was a "blue" when she doxxed Oberon two years ago and couldn't check IP or email addresses. Ever since aamirus got promoted to a "red," she has been allowed to check the personal info of this sites' members. I'd like for her to lose her administrator privileges.
Also, I suggest that @Marshmallow Marshall create a disclaimer thread. It should advise new users to not sign up with their real e-mail address and urge anyone whose real e-mail is connected to this site to change their address. I'm also open to recommending that members use VPNs, although I realize that can make it harder for administrators to detect smurf accounts.
If the members don't care about what aamirus did, then nothing will change. Based on what I read in this thread, I think that's exactly what will happen. However, I had to post this because I couldn't leave Oberon alone against six to seven users. Four of them are active administrators.

If the arguments continue and aamirus doesn't get punished, then Oberon, you have your answer. Sc2Mafia does not care about the privacy of its users. It cares if someone says the n-word or uses a pedophiliac name, but turns a blind eye if one of its users gets doxxed.
Aamirus did something wrong and needs to be held accountable. It's as clear as the difference between night and day. If nothing happens, that confirms for me that this community is dangerous and not worth being a part of.
I'll say no more on this matter.
Genuine question too
Please, if you’ve the power to reveal my personal info, don’t do it. Don’t give hints or do anything with the info you have on me.
I doxxed you Ceko. Your pictures are now in my spank bank.
Am I guilty of doxxing you now?
Look I am all for getting to the bottom of concerns people have, but lets not be hasty.
“The Facebook” is in reference to me saying something along the lines “I FOUND IT! I’m gonna keep these pics for my spankbank”
Like it was an obvious joke. If you want ‘evidence’ you can ask any of the people present if they saw mag doxxed.
This is so stupid it was an obvious joke statement and you’re just obsessing over a phrasing to manufacture some scandal.
Have you ever heard the tragedy of Darth Jar Jar the wise?

The only other explanation I can think of is that someone else from Skwirl doxxed Oberon. However, since aamirus apologized to Oberon for being goaded into posting on his Facebook, I doubt that is the case.
@rumox aami said she “wouldn’t go on Oberon’s Facebook” that means she found it somehow and did something on it that made him confront her.
Aami doxxed Oberon. It’s a fact. What will you do with this info?
I'm sorry but I am absolutely lost.
Where was it mentioned that someone commented on Oberon's Facebook?
Where did he claim someone posted his real name and e-mail address somewhere?
Also in the OP Ganelon claims he used an email with his first and last name, however when Aamirus was fucking around saying she had his Facebook Ganelon himself says in the screenshot he posted that she didn't even have his name?
This story is full of so many holes I don't even know where to begin entertaining the thought of Aamirus doxxing Ganelon.
The “someone” who posted Oberon’s name and e-mail was aamirus. I don’t know where she posted that but it was in a public channel.
Aamirus admitted going on Oberon’s Facebook in the screenshot, so how is it so hard for you to consider a world where she doxxed him? She admitted it. We don’t know every detail, but aamirus is not cleared of wrongdoing. She is not an innocent mod; I refuse to believe it.
Oberon should clear things up by responding to your quote rumox.
@aamirus in the screenshot you said you wouldn’t go on Oberon’s Facebook again. What did you do the first time you were on it?
So if Aamirus went on Ganelon's Facebook, Ganelon isn't using his real name on Facebook?
Yeah going to need Ganelon to comment because what you are saying doesn't make sense.
Yeah, I admit he hasn’t made much sense. There are a lot of holes in his story which could be cleared up with screenshots.
Sorry that I don’t entirely trust your motives rumox. Part of me thinks you’re just covering for aami because she’s a fellow admin. But you probably just want all the details and evidence.
I chatted with aami a lot and she doesn’t seem like a bad person, but she clearly did something quite disturbing. The screenshot proves that. Aami can say what she wants on this thread, but she can’t dispute the screenshot.
Ganelon says someone used his email address from SC2Mafia which contained his first and last name to obtain his Facebook. Aamirus "claimed" she was on his Facebook, but Ganelon said she didn't even have his name in the screenshot he posted so if she did use his real name to find his Facebook, why is he saying she didn't find his real name?
Do you see how this doesn't make sense?
Also notice how Ganelon put "go on the Facebook" in quotes? This usually implies something to the contrary of whatever is contained inside the quotes.
I didn’t know he challenged aami to doxx him until recently ffs
Look I get it, you are concerned for your friend but what you are putting forward doesn't make sense right now. Let Ganelon comment.
