Found myself in a position to use this. Had my second egg arepa with ketchup, since the only other option I could think of was kimchi. Not optimal but it worked.

Cheese! Cut it open, put some butter, cheese, and salt in there. Heat it to melt the cheese. Ham and cheese is also a popular choice. If you have any Colombian and/or Venuzuelan restaurants around, try one "con todo" (with everything) God I love arepas.
