Here are the results of my experiments.
Day 1:
1 - Dropped, randoms claimed I was a known cheater. Didn't mention experiment.
2 - Dropped, no words. Didn't mention experiment.
3 - Played. Mentioned being on kick-list and being legit. Normal game as SK. Killed on day one by asshole Jailor. His question was "What's your favorite color?". My answer being "Blue", he proceeded to execute me.
4 - Played. Mentioned being on kick-list and being legit. Normal game as Consort. Killed on day one by SK.
5 - Played. Same as above. Normal game as Jailor. Discovered 2nd Jailor. Jailor Jailor win.
6 - Played. Same as above. Investigator, died night 1.
7 - Played. Mentioned doing an experiment. Forgot the details, died on night 3.
My results:
- Players are less inclined to kick someone when they have other people to vouch for them
- Most players will begin as Vote Sheep initially, but will change when the above conditions are met
- Some players will blare out random statements such as "X is a cheater! Kick him! He game-throws!"
- Declaring innocence is nearly impossible unless you have merciful players
- Players are less inclined to vote kick after playing a game with that person
- Most players don't read the kick-list description. My description is isn't a reasonable reason to kick me.
- My description accuses me of being a "huge liar", a trait that's extremely important for Mafia. It is also impossible to be banned for this
- Players on the kick-list have a higher chance of being killed off early
- Day 2 starts tomorrow.
Day 2:
1 - Played. Mentioned being on kick-list. Won the support of 3 players. Normal game as Veteran, killed 3 people on Night 1. Won as town. There were 2 Skypers this game, with one player admitting it
- This test was a minimalist test to ensure that I wouldn't encounter the same players
- Many players who looked at my description were confused by it
- Again, some players will falsely accuse kick-list players
- There were 2 Skypers in the game, may post replay if I can find it
2 - There is no Game II for the sake of testing purposes
Day 3:
1 - Played. Mentioned being on kick-list. ALMOST got kicked. Players insisted that I was Skyper due to confusing Kick-List description, that being "Epical is a confirmed Lying Bastard!!". Won as Bus Driver. My last will, "BEEP BEEP GOES THE ROFLBUS CAT!"
2 - Played. Same as above. Nearly got kicked. Players insisted that I was a Skyper, again. Became a Witch and helped kill off Mafia by coincidence. Commited suicide knowing that I wouldn't be able to win.
3 - Played. Investigator. Nearly got kicked. Won the game.
4 - Played, Same as above, Investigator. Had vouchers. Lost to an arsonist.
5 - Played, but terribly. A lagger overwhelmed us all. Not even worth talking about. Died day 1 as Escort.
6 - Kicked. Only one player wondered what my Description meant, claiming he's never seen it before.
7 - Played. Got Mayor, acted like Survivor. Worked with Jailor and Investigator to root out and kill the Mafia. Won my first game as Mayor, but died two days before the end. Last will was "MAYOR CAT FTW!"
- The test was a repeat of Day 1, with a new set of players
- Most players will not read the kick-list description
- Several players hated me just for being on the kick-list
- My description confuses players A LOT
- Most players who vouch for me use my description as back-up, claiming its "Impossible" and "Part of the game". Amazing aren't they?
- Donors with shining models and hats usually die before kick-list players. That's because it's impossible to figure out their real name
- Most Mafia players are pessimists, not optimists. Many players assume the worse, rather than the greater. Most players say "# of town is dead" rather than "# of town is alive". This is just a random observation
- Again, the "Sheep Effect" was seen throughout most of my games today.
- Game 7 was the only game where I had majority not vote me off, and where us individual players actually thought. No sheep here
- Mafia is only good when you remove all the Sheep
My experiment is completed.
