    Work Appropriate Mafia Adaption

Hey everyone! I'm an instructor for a Cable Company and I am working on a 'work appropriate' adaption of Mafia to play as an activity/ice breaker for my trainees. The concept I came up was centered around Information Security (something that is very important to my company). So the theme is that a malicious organization has infiltrated our company and is attempting to take down our network, leading to widespread outages and upset customers.

We are playing as associates of that company who are attempting to weed out the cyber criminals (mafia) and terminate them before they can use their internal access to our network to permanently disrupt our service. Unfortunately my knowledge Network Security is somewhat limited and short of going to that department and explaining what I'm doing and trying to get their input I figured I would ask here first!

Keeping in mind that this is a heavy WIP, this is what I have so far for "Town" roles. These roles are based on SC2 mafia, but currently Spy, Crier, Mason Leader, and Investigator (that detects specific crimes) are not utilized. Also I realize some of the role names (Administrator, Investigator, Auditor) are already used in SC2mafia for other purposed, but these are titles I've found in researching network security and fit with the theme of cyber warfare/corporate espionage.

I would love any feedback or suggestions you may have. Just be kind! ^_^

    Cyber Security Team
    • Administrator (Bus Driver) – During the Break Phase, this player may access one other player’s computer and temporarily swap it with the computer of another player (including their own). If they do so, during that Break Phase all special abilities targeting the first chosen player will target the second player instead and vice versa.
    • Auditor (Lookout) – During the Break Phase, this player may monitor one other player’s computer and learn which players access it. This player is not considered to have accessed that computer, nor do they prevent other players from accessing it.
    • Assessor (Vigilante) – During the Break Phase, this player may access one other player’s computer and disable their network connection. This player may use ability this up to three times per game.
    • Analyst (Detective) – During the Break Phase, this player may access one other player’s computer and monitor which computer they access during the Break, if any.
    • Consultant (Citizen) – This player does not possess a special ability, however, their critical analysis of the other players will be crucial in discovering the identity of the Cyber Criminals.
    • Architect (Escort) – During the Break Phase, this player may access one other player’s computer and prevent them from using any special abilities during the Break.
    • Director (Mayor) – This player may reveal their role at any time during the Discussion Phase. If they do, their votes to terminate an associate count for 3 for the rest of the game. They can no longer be protected by the Engineer once their role is revealed.
    • Engineer (Veteran) – During the Break Phase, this player may go on alert. If they do and another player attempts to access their computer, they will prevent that access and disable that player’s network connection in retaliation. This player may use ability this up to three times per game.
    • Investigator (Sheriff) – During the Break Phase, this player may access one other player’s computer and look for evidence to identify whether they are a Cyber Criminal. They cannot detect the Criminal Mastermind.
    • Manager (Marshall) – This player may reveal their role at any time during the Discussion Phase. If they do, the Cyber Security Team may terminate up to 3 associates during that Discussion Phase instead of the usual 1. They can no longer be protected by the Engineer once their role is revealed.
    • Coordinator (Mason) – This player does not possess a special ability, however, Coordinators are able to confirm their role by revealing their identity to other Coordinators during the first Break Phase.
    • Specialist (Bodyguard) – During the Break Phase, this player may access one other player’s computer and monitor it for intrusion. If another player attempts to disable the target’s network connection, both the attacker and this player’s computer will have their network connection disabled instead.
    • Technician (Doctor) – During the Break Phase, this player may access one other player’s computer and protect it from cyber intrusion. If another player attempts to disable the target’s network connection, this player will prevent it.
