Be careful RLVG. You used checkers as a pretext to exchange 20+ messages with a player who is clearly not bothering to talk much about productive analysis, because he feels it's pointless at this stage. Then you made a show of troll-voting this player when he said buddying wasn't possible and then took the time to explain to him that scums can try to buddy with people they read as scummy to make early allies. Even though your time with him largely dropped after you taught him about this, you are now baselessly calling him town, and revoting Gamefreak to draw attention away from him.

A tenacious town may read all this and suspect you've been very subtly buddying with Paladin in the hopes of making an ally. The point at which you started reasonlessly defending him and drawing attention away from him made it look like much more than scum-baiting.

Not that any of this is the case of course, just letting you know how you might be misread, if someone looks too hard. While I'm sure you have very good reasoning for town-reading Paladin so hard on d1, I'd recommend you don't wind up / disorient others to try to keep your well-reasoned town reads alive, or you might end up as the object of a desperate lynch at day end.
