Intellectual growth comes from discussions, not arguments. If you are unwilling to change your position and hear the other persons side you are closed minded and wasting your time.
If you can not clearly explain what the other sides reasoning is you can not disagree with their position because you do not understand it.
Am I the autistic friend?
Don't pet growlithe, he will bite you.

Autism is when you're so hyper focused on absolutely everything that you loose focus, having to make random sounds or spazz to get this little control of focus.
There's also this weird obession of stacking objects, but this might be related to something else.
Why is it a verb for retard, or anything to insult with?
I can't tell, nor does it matter for the purpose of this post, if this is a rhetorical question, but isn't autism one of those disorders that is unique for everyone who gets diagnosed with it, much like schizophrenia? I'd say that repetitive behaviours, hypersensitivity and poor communication skills would be better descriptors for the symptoms. All those translate into weird-looking behaviours to the average person, hence the association of autism with odd or stupid behaviour.
Or tl;dr, people don't like things that are different from them because they don't understand why people do such behaviours, the end.
Happy New Year, enjoy that successful rotation of the Earth around the Sun for another year.
That's why everything are now in branches with more specific names.
As the given example Schizophrenia, it isn't just simply that.
There's Paranoid Schizophrenia, Disorganized Schizophrenia, Pervasive Schizophrenia, or some weird shit like Lycan Schizophrenia which makes you see yourself as a furry.
Aspergers Syndrome was previously a part of Autism Branch, before it got its own and now they're completely sepperated.
Today, there's now three branches : The Autism Branch, The Aspergers Branch, and The Pervasive Developmental Branch.
By todays standards of what "Autism" is alone, it's hypersensitivity and hyper-attention of everything, arguably epileptic (which is when the brain goes 100% as opposed to 10%).
Just what I wanted for Christmas! Validation by strangers on the interwebs!
lol, implying you were going to get a picture anyway. You can't hide your scummy ways, noavi :o
Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't most of the schizophrenia subtypes been removed from the DSM V/ are considered outdated by now? I'm not an expert, so fire away.
Lycanthropy used to be the archaic term for the latter. Nowadays they're seen as 'otherkin' or furries as you said.
I can't tell if you're saying "autistic brains function at 100% instead of 10%" but if you are, isn't 100% what happens when you're having a stroke?
Diagnosing Schizophrenia usually implies loosing your reality with a different visual or audio of what it is.
Example : By visual, I mean instead of your regular home, it's filled with rainbows, candy canes and fairies! Or it could just be yourself. Audio, it means hearing voices in your head, some of them are impulsive and evil intended while others are good intended or can't interpret.
While most of it is not part of the DSM, the specifics are still there.
Lycan Schizophrenia is just that : Visual schizophrenia of perceiving the world of yourself as a different being while nothing else is affected.
I actually know a woman who has this... It's awkward and creepy.
As for the whole 100% thing in autism, that's why I say it's arguably epileptic, you're supposed to have a stroke.
Shopping mall : A person bumps into another, while a person opens a door, while there's a santa saying stuff to kids on that chair, while there's a nearby person asking for charity money and then there's this sweet girl who you're uspposed to chat to. Normal person : Ignore all else, focus on girl. Autist : Focus on everything with equal attention.
You're describing positive schizophrenic symptoms (visual/ auditory hallucinations, delusions, etc), which are a part of the diagnosis for the disorder. There are some similarities with autism with negative symptoms as they involve being withdrawn and possessing poor social skills (for example, the inability to form coherent sentences or whatnot).
I'm not so convinced about the 'having a stroke' part. Maybe if someone with autism was triggered by environmental stimuli, then I can see that, but going about life with your brain in hyperactive mode (as in, 100%) 24/7 seems like it would lead to more mental breakdowns. I think people with autism are more prone to becoming fixated on one particular thing out of everything (compared to the average person) as opposed to being aware of their surroundings all the time, but that's just my personal experience talking.
Your deductive prowess is incredible! What could have possibly given away my lack of plan to get a profile picture?!

Superjack ain't got shit on a white knight like me. I bench <insert a number of kilograms that is at least triple your body weight here> six times a day.
Anyway, I'm going to use my critical thinking skills to call you out on the first few paragraphs - clearly that quote from Abe Lincoln is wrong because in his time the word 'trust-worthy' was hyphenated like so.
I genuinely wish this was real.
