I'd say that repetitive behaviours, hypersensitivity and poor communication skills would be better descriptors for the symptoms. All those translate into weird-looking behaviours to the average person, hence the association of autism with odd or stupid behaviour.

You're describing positive schizophrenic symptoms (visual/ auditory hallucinations, delusions, etc), which are a part of the diagnosis for the disorder. There are some similarities with autism with negative symptoms as they involve being withdrawn and possessing poor social skills (for example, the inability to form coherent sentences or whatnot).

I'm not so convinced about the 'having a stroke' part. Maybe if someone with autism was triggered by environmental stimuli, then I can see that, but going about life with your brain in hyperactive mode (as in, 100%) 24/7 seems like it would lead to more mental breakdowns. I think people with autism are more prone to becoming fixated on one particular thing out of everything (compared to the average person) as opposed to being aware of their surroundings all the time, but that's just my personal experience talking.
