LOL, it's more being used to how e-mails are read -- with the most current content on top. Makes more sense the other way though, especially given the forum software sets you up that way. I'm sure I will inevitably backslide and have to edit a post or two. At the very least, it would help in the event of a FM Disguiser -- they would mess that up on my posts easily.

You would actually be surprised -- in the work context, a lot of e-mails start with one blast, but then get split up as different people field different subparts. Text on top makes more sense with e-mails just so it's easier to see what the current content is. Otherwise, you might be fishing through several pages of old e-mails before you get to the new content.

Quotes on top make more sense for a forum because the quotes are usually pretty short and they're set off with markup (whereas you don't usually get anything more than crude indentation with e-mails).
