    New Role Suggestion: Headhunter

    Headhunter (Neutral Benign, Killing)

Ability: Kill one person each night

Win condition: Kill your target at night. At the beginning of the game, you will not be told who your target is, but you will be given clues (their faction and exact role). You're limited to two kills. If you fail, you turn into a jester.

I don't think you should be stumped if someone else kills your target before you, since that's out of your control.

Instead, I suggest being jesterfied if your target was killed but not by your hands.

Also, this role could very well play a huge factor in tipping the balance. Perhaps make it so it's always Anti-town?

Why not just call it like "Bounty Hunter" and the win condition be something along the lines of kill a player who has killed another player.

That's quite specific though. An alternative objective could be to survive the entire game in the event the BH would be unable to claim a bounty.

Your "along the lines" suggestion would make it a purely anti-killing role. It would also make it a role that will always look for killers, rather than a role that had the potential to be forced to look for any role. However, your suggestion is "along the lines", so perhaps a clarification could solve these issues?

Anyway, I really like it. But I'd like an option to make the target immune to all attacks but the headhunter attacks (as an alternative to the jester solution for premature target deaths). Depending on the save, this solution could be far more fitting.

I would give the headhunter one kill. Infinite attacks, but all gone after a kill. If you use your kill and don't get the target, you don't morph roles or anything, you just no longer have a win condition you can achieve. Except for maybe your new win condition would be "survive."

The biggest problem I see with this role (the way it is worded above in my post) is it being able to be a spoiler. The Headhunter must not be immune at night or they could easily join a winning faction by revealing their target is an X or Y.

I think the best way to have it give up information would be "your target has visited <player>. That could open up the floor to any role and then you have to use the night visitations as your clues (and could possibly make the role night immune again since they don't know anything about their target. -or- if someone accidentally feeds you information by revealing information about what role visited them and you learn through another source that X player is Y role. 2 and 2 = 4 without having to wait for enough visits to happen for the process of elimination to complete.

-An incorrect kill will yield the Headhunter the equivalent of a Survivor with no vests but has the same victory condition of "don't die."
-A correct kill will yield the Headhunter the equivalent of a Survivor with vests but already has accomplished their victory condition.

It wouldn't make sense for a Headhunter to reveal his target though. Their goal is to kill their target, outting their target's role would jeopardize their win.
