No, because the role is closer to a pseudo-sheriff. The role has the effect of making you part of a greater picture where the people you visit are an indicator of whether or not they are part of the town. If you write a last will beforehand, it will tell the town who killed you on your visit so that they have a place to look.
Since the role is in itself defined by the fact that you are constantly risking your life to get this information (unlike the survivor who is trying to SAVE his life), winning with the town is far more apparent because it would require an alternative victory condition. This way, the beggar serves a greater purpose while still being capable of winning.
