Dear moderators,
After playing mafia 300 times this game gets a bit boring. We need a new update. And I’m not talking about visual changes, rebalancing or bug fixes. We need new roles! Here are some of my ideas and ideas from mafia forums.

Town Roles
Bastion

Alignment: Town Protective
Victory condition: Lynch every criminal and evildoer
Crimes: Soliciting, Disturbing of peace
Description: Faithfull citizen that will sacrifice his life for town.
Night action: You can visit someone at night, making everyone who tried to visit that person target you
Role options:
- People will know that they are retargeted – ON
- Target is notified – OFF
Comment:
This role is supposed to be a good counter against blackmailers and role-blockers. As soon as all the lookouts die, that role-blocked/blackmailed person is screwed. This role can be also used to save important people from death (good against assassin) and it doesn’t mess with the investigative info – people are notified when they are retargeted by default. He can be ironically mislead with its counter – consort/liaison (check the crimes).

Mafia/Triad Roles
Assassin/Archer
Alignment: Mafia/Triad Killing
Victory condition: Kill off the Town and everyone else who would oppose you.
Crimes: Murder
Description: Skilled assassin capable of killing well-protected people.
Night action: You can kill someone at night.
Role options:
- Ignores invulnerability - OFF
- Ignores bodyguard’s protection – ON
- Ignores doctor’s healing – ON
- Limited to 1 Kill - ON
- Limited to 2 Kills - OFF
- Limited to 3 Kills – OFF
- Becomes mafioso when alone - ON
Note:
Assassin after killing someone will receive message such as – You have succeeded assassinating your target! / You have failed assassinating your target, he is night immune! He uses sniper rifle for killing his targets (night sequence).
Comment:
This role can be useful for killing dangerous, confirmed roles such as Mayor or Marshall even when they are confirmed and guarded by docs and bodyguards (they can be still bused, jailed). If the default settings are changed he can be even used for killing night-immune roles (serial killer) and can be able to kill more people (could be a bit OP). Unlike the disguiser he can attack confirmed roles, without getting shot by a bodyguard.
Corleone/Commander
Alignment: Mafia/Triad Support
Crimes: Conspiracy
Victory condition: Kill off the Town and everyone else who would oppose you.
Description: Corrupted governor that can guide the group.
Night action: You have no night action, but you have highlighted chat that cannot be seen by spies.
Role options:
- You will get all mafia investigative info at the end of each night – ON
- You will know the successes of mafia kills at the end of each night – OFF
- You will know the successes of unique actions at the end of each night – ON
- Invulnerable at night - ON
- Immune to detection – ON
- Becomes Mafioso when alone - ON
Note:
These “unique” actions (4th role option) are role-blocking, framing, sanitizing. If the 3rd role option (You will know the successes of mafia kills at the end of each night) is ON, Corleone will know if the killer was successful and if he failed, he will know the reason why – “Name”[Role] failed killing/disguising “Target’s name”, he/she was healed. He can also use –no target. This is a unique role (amnesiac can’t replace him) and mafia can have only 1 of them. Mafia can have either Corleone or Godfather (similar to Marshall and Mayor).
Comment:
With this role mafia will be finally able to speak at night, without being afraid of spies. It doesn’t make spy useless because he can still see mafia kills, targets and chat of all the other mafia members. It’s basically a second mafia leader – but a lot better and more organized, even though he can’t do anything. And yes. This role uses the achievement’s name (You can name him however you want).
Director/Moderator
Original idea: ???
Alignment: Mafia/Triad Deception
Crimes: Trespassing
Description: Retired director working for organized crime.
Victory condition: Kill off the Town and everyone else who would oppose you.
Night action: Change the death type of some person at night.
Role options:
- Also changes night sequence kill – ON
- Cannot change disguiser kill – ON
- Immune to detection - OFF
- Becomes mafioso when alone – ON
Note:
I have no idea how exactly would his night action work – maybe if you type message such as: -Kill Veteran and then visit someone that is targeted by mafia killer.
Comment:
This would be advanced and very hard to use role. It can basically confuse the town and make it harder to figure out the killing roles. For example: Sheriff tries to investigate the director, mafia kills the sheriff before that and director changes the kill to veteran. Next day he claims veteran and asks for everyone’s roles. And why can’t he change disguiser kill by default? That’s kind of obvious.

Neutral roles
Stalker
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Crimes: Trespass, Murder
Victory condition: You and your target must be the last people alive.
Description: Obsessed romantic desperate for love.
Night action: You can guard your target or kill someone at night. (Limited to 4)
Role options:
- Target cannot be killing role – ON
- Target cannot be mafia/triad - ON
- Your ability is unlimited – OFF
- You will be notified if your target was roleblocked/blackmailed/jailed at night – ON
- You will know who visited your target at night – ON
- You will know who your target visited at night – ON
- Becomes jester upon failure - OFF
Note:
His ability has shared limit (for example: he can guard his target 2 times and then he can kill twice). When not taking any action he will always visit his target. He will not know who the target visited, or who visited his target if he’s killing (not guard-killing) someone. When his target gets attacked when he’s guarding him, the attacker will die during duel, but the stalker will survive. For a guarding kill he uses the same night sequence as bodyguard, but for assault kill – he rips his victim’s heart out of his/her chest (messed up idea). By default the stalker will suicide if his target dies – he will also receive message at night (even if his target survived the attack) – “Name” was attacked/executed at night!!! From the beginning the stalker would be unsuspicious, but as soon as he starts killing (not guard-killing) people he will show up as a serial killer for sheriff.
P.S You don’t know the role of your target at the beginning of the game.
Comment:
There is no role such as this one yet. Stalker will suicide if his target dies, but it can be changed in settings – it could be a bit annoying if your target dies n1. Target cannot be a killing role by default, obviously because he would kill you (same as mafia would). Strategy for stalker could be simple - guard your target if necessary, wait a few nights till the night immune roles get lynched and then start killing the remaining town and evils.
Hacker
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Crimes: Hacking
Victory condition: Survive and see the town lose the game.
Description: Skilled expert abusing his programming knowledge for evil.
Night action: You can hack someone each night, gaining his last will and crime record.
Role options:
- Detects exact role – ON
- Can send e-mails at night – ON
- Immune to detection – OFF

You can send e-mails to mafia members at night with your info: -@ 12 Hi consort, I’m 6 the hacker – Don’t kill me! N1 2 Doctor N2 5 Mayor N3 6 Consort
Comment:
This role can easily fake town investigative roles such as investigator, detective, lookout (everyone can fake sheriff) and confirm himself as town. He can also send useful info at night to mafia (If the save allows it). Detection immunity could be needed because as confirmed role he drives too much attention and could be investigated by someone. E-mails are VERY IMPORTANT – you don’t want the mafia to kill you (you’re confirmed investigative role).
