    Becoming a mod?

Allow me to start by saying that I really love this game. I've been playing mafia for quite some time now and have been enjoying it ever since. In fact, this is probably the only map that I play on SC2, so I really hate to see it destroyed.

However, I, like many others I'm sure, have stumbled into a problem - trolls and game throwers. These people join in and don't participate in the game, or when they do, they tend to make other (genuine) player's playing experience worse. I just got out of a game where the doctor was 'trolling' (he even openly admitted it multiple times), and there wasn't much I could do about it.

I understand that reporting said players is a way of getting rid of them from this game, but I would like to take a more active role in this community.

With that said, how does one become a moderator? I would really appreciate if DR or any other mod could reply to me.

    Thanks,

    Zam.

I'm no mod, but I'm sure you would have to be good friends with DR, or at least have a history with him. He would need to know that you wouldn't just abuse your power. And you could say "But I'm a donor!" Well thats fine and dandy, but I've seen plenty of donors troll by making their names fill up the whole chat box when they talk, and things along those lines. My best advice would be to hang out with DR whenever he plays, and get involved.

Of course. I wasn't going to pull the donor card to make myself look better. And I have no intentions of abusing mod power.

1). Get to know the mods & DR.
2). Get well known in the mafia community. Be active on the forums, play forum mafia, host in-house games & hang out / talk w/ DR & the other mods.
3). You have to have respect from most mods & DR himself before you can get moderator
4). Last but not least, mod's recommend people.

Or in Pedobear's case, donate a lot of money.

Yayap, I've been playing this game for a very long time, and because most of my posts are from this month doesn't mean i'm not well known.

And why are we turning this thread into about me? I answered the guys question & I get flamed.

    Re: Becoming a mod?

Pedobear: I guarantee that the majority of the mod team didn't know you, I sure don't and i (used to, but not as much in the past month) play a ton of random pub games. You aren't a prominent figure, and I agree that the only reason you became a mod is such: You bought it and asked for it. While all the mods will look at you in shame, I'm not biased in that manner. I am, in fact, annoyed by the very reason that you are compelled to lie in order to belong.

As for the original intent of the thread...yea I suppose that's how the mod selection status works. It would be better said coming out of an honest-to-goodness non-troll moderator. From what I've seen of your demeanor, you are a troll. If you want to continue being a moderator, you should learn to watch your step. Just like in all jobs (I would consider this somewhat a job) you would be on your probationary period, being watched by everyone. Put on your best attitude, and ween yourself away from the trolling. You need to show respect to get it, and thus far you have not.

    Re: Becoming a mod?

I got what you said from Yayap, but going off of other's actions is not the way to do things. You are a new moderator. Start things off in a good way. Your apparent troll behavior (your user title says it all) is your true fault. Fix it. If you do not fix it people will not listen to you. That is all that I am saying. You won't be a good moderator if you start off with the idea that following in the "shadow of the leader" is a good idea, when you see the trolling behavior of aged moderators. Yes we all make mistakes, but that's not what I am attacking. When people feel comfortable with you, I'm sure that they will accept your trollish behavior a little more.

I don't take into consideration the events of anyone other than yourself. It's all good and fine that you didn't participate in that forum mafia. As stated, that's not the part that I'm attacking.

You shouldn't be attacking me at all. It's none of your business for how I achieved the moderator status. Of course I am a bit of a troll, so is Goon & FT / DR. Does that mean that I'm following in their footsteps? No. I choose to handle them the way I want to handle them & the way I feel they should be handled. I know I am new, but I am not new enough to not be a human bullshit detector. I sponsor & own lots of CS & CS servers worldwide, I know how to handle things, and I handle them accordingly. I don't care what others do, I care what I myself does. My top priority is not to be considerably paying attention to people 'hatin on me because I'm mod, but to ensure a fair quality gameplay for others who are actually serious & take their time seriously, & preciously and I want to ensure to them that they're games will not be trifled with. All known misbehavors I msg personally asking them to behave as a fair warning, if they do not, I warn them once again w/ -kick. If they continue, they get kicked. If they get mad, so fucking what.

I don't follow in the footsteps of people. I stay in my own shoes.

Said doc claimed to be a mafia so that he would be lynched. After that, he left. Trolling + throwing the game for town.

Also, this thread quickly turned into a flaming trollfest. Perhaps it should get locked now?
