Powerful new town role: Brain Surgeon

NEUTRAL EVIL ROLE; NOT TOWN; CANT CHANGE TITLE


Similar to the principle of the amnesiac, the Brain Surgeon has a similar function.

Brain Surgeon: A doctor that has been betrayed by town and now uses his powers for evil

Alignment: Neutral [Evil] (Wins with Witches, Judges, Auditors, Serial Killers, Mass Murderers, Arsonists and the Cult) DOES NOT WIN WITH MAF/TRIAD/TOWN
Night Ability: Yes
Day Ability: No
Attributes:
-You can only swap Members of the Mafia, Triad, Cult and Masons with other members of the same alignment (e.g. godfather and framer, informant and enforcer, not Sheriff and Blackmailer or Dragon Head and Agent)
-Wins 1v1 tie against Town
-If you swap a Mason with a Cultist, both will die and the roles will be revealed as ???
-If you are witched to swap yourself with yourself, you will become mad and convert to the Cult (even if you are then the only cult)




-Names are NOT swapped like disguiser, only the roles are swapped, e.g.


Player 1 Name X is Jailor
Player 2 Name Y is Doctor
Swap 1 and 2
Player 1 Name X is Doctor
Player 2 Name Y is Jailor

The names do not change, UNLESS self-target:
Player 1 Name X is Brain Surgeon
Player 2 Name Y is Doctor
Swap 1 and 2
Player 1 Name Y is Doctor
Player 2 Name X is Brain Surgeon

I know this is complex, but in both above examples the PLAYER refers to the actual human behind the computer and the Name to the ingame name and number.





Options:
1) Limited to 2 sucessful swaps [Default: On]
2) Can swap self [Default: Off]

If Option 1 is unchecked, Brain Surgeon is limited to 3 sucessful swaps
If Option 2 is checked and the Brain Surgeon swaps himself with someone else, the new Brain Surgeon will have the remaining uses left, possibly none (otherwise eternal swapping)
If two players are swapped, the players will have the remaining uses of the ability of the role they were swapped with, at least one. (seems complicated, but it's just like amnesiac)

The Brain Surgeon can manipulate player's brains, swapping two player's roles and Last Wishes (a bit like disguiser or informant)
The two players are informed about the change in night, but not who they were swapped with.

Possible Uses and Effects:

1) Claim to be an investigative role to gain trust from town - if your swap fails you know one of your targets is a member of the mafia or triad (unless both are)!
2) Confuse the town or Mafia/Triad by swapping roles!
3) If you see you are on the losing team, switch roles with another player and reveal your old self as Brain Surgeon, thus hopping onto the winning team (Obviously doesn't work if maf or triad win)

A very complex role, but a new exciting touch to the game!

The concept of role swapping is interesting, but there's a lot of problems as you describe the role.

I wouldn't allow swaps with Town/Evil - the new Doctor knows who all the Mafia are and can reveal them. Game's over. Maybe only same faction swapping should be allowed - Town with town, Maf/Triad/Cult with their team, neutrals with other neutrals. Maaaybe Town with neutral benign.

Would this swap names too like Disguiser?

He might work better as a neutral role, sort of in the same vein as what the Auditor does in messing up roles.

Hmm, very nice feedback and I see the problem of the new doctor revealing maf.
Although I would like him as town, I have edited the first post to make him neutral. Go have another look ;=)

Still...the whole ting of switching mafia with someone else basically ends the game... ALL of mafia is revealed due to 1 person
