Greatest 50 fictional villains of all time

I do this thing every now and again where I rank things. At the moment I'm doing fictitious villains.

I've cut my own list down to 51, but id like to hear some opinions on who you think deserves to be there.

    This will either
a: give me new names from shows/movies/comics/books that I am unfamiliar with
    - in this case please make a case for the character as I won't know what to do with them otherwise.
b: help me notice clear opinions in terms of final rankings.
    - making a case here will also help.

In general the bullet points one would want to hit.
1: power within their realm- for example, Negan from walking dead should be 5/5 stars for being a mothafucking cocksfucking magnificent bastard in TWD, even though he clearly falters against someone like Loki in a head to head.
2: goal- most villains seek power or revenge, some seek world peace though. The goal is relevant.
3: character- being entertaining and deep is clearly worth points. Mindless killing machines don't exactly deserve points for killing.
4: note able achievements- some villains win, some kill supporting characters, some seemingly never go away
5: the world- the scale of the world they live in matters, and popularity of the franchise should get points. Someone once said the guy from Half Life was he #1 video game hero. No, that's clearly Mario.
6: x-factor- similar to achievements, but if they bring something exceptionally unique that deserves to be noted.

If you could list, and/or make a case for, about 10 villains that'd be sick.

    Halp.

    Whaat?
Go finish it. If you like the normal Starcraft game, you'll love the campaign.
Its really good in my opinion, however its been some time since i have finished it, so my memory of it may be rosy-tinted.

Go on please. Reading the Starcraft Wiki doesn't exactly translate the impact it has on a player as well as having a known fan describe it.

After overthrowing the confederacy by luring zerg to destroy the capital planet and leaving his second in command to die, he became leader of the confederacy's successor, the Terran Dominion. As Emperor, he ruled harsher and more corruptly than the confederacy.

I don't want to mention my own rankings yet for risk of impacting opinions.

Several idea starters, I suppose, in no particular order.
    The Joker - Batman
    Hans Landa - Inglorious Bastards
    Lord Voldemort - Harry Potter
    Darth Vader - Star Wars
    Negan - The Walking Dead
Anton Chigurg - No Country for Old Men

Re: Greatest 50 fictional villains of all time

    10. Macbeth (Macbeth)
    • Power in his own realm? He starts the book off as a Thane (Lord) and becomes King and wages a war. Pretty badass, although his actions are dictated by the witches.
    • The theme of the play is the downfall of reckless ambition. Macbeth murders his best friend and king and become king.
    • He's a proud warrior who served his country proudly at the start. At the end, he gets a moment of self realization and realizes his fate is just.
    • Becomes King of Scotland
    • In the world of literature, he might not be the greatest villain due to brevity but the message the play carried was resounding.
    • fucking rips a guy in half from the dick up

    9. Sensui (YuYu Hakusho)
    • Leader of the apocalypse movement in the penultimate story arc. Human with the powers of an S-class demon. Yeah he's badass.
    • As he was working for humans and eliminating demons, he walked in a group of humans torturing and killing innocent demons and realized that humans were enormous hypocrites and no better than the demons he kills. So his goal is to see humanity end.
    • He has multi personality disorder. Suave and persuasive to psychotic to immature.
    • Kills the main character, Yusuke
    • I believe that besides Yusuke, he's the only S-class in the show/manga. So he's top of the top, and although his story arc is second to last, he is the strongest villain ever.
    • He's like 9 feet tall. He likes to create high-energy balls with his hands and then kick them at enemies soccer-style. My theory is that his body is too tall to fight conventionally.

    8. Trinity Killer (Dexter)
    • Has the second most kills in the show Dexter (over 200, Dexter narrowly beats him in the end). Doesn't get caught for at least 40 years of serial killing.
    • Self suffering. He feels guilty for the death of his family, so he kills people in the exact same way to relive his pain.
    • "shut up cunt"
    • Not getting caught for at least 40 years of bludgeoning people in the face.
    • Popularly considered the most evil villain in the show Dexter by fans.
    • EXTREMELY methodical. He kills in the exact same way each time, with each kill on the same kind of victim (married woman with two kids, etc).

Re: Greatest 50 fictional villains of all time

Well let me put down some of the reasons why he should be up there

    1. He fucking murdered a whole planet via psi emitters causing the Zerg to come and devour every single god damn living thing on the planet, just to get rid of the Confederacy and come to power. Not to mention hes corrupt as hell and selfish, as I quote "I will not be stopped. Not by you, or the Confederates, or the Protoss or anyone! I will rule this sector or see it burnt to ashes around me."
    2. He has cool hair.

    Kid Buu

He retains no form of compassion or remorse for any of his actions. Furthermore, due to his selfish and capricious personality and mind-set, he is incapable of developing empathy and comprehending the nature of his actions.

Buu's only reason for existence was to cause absolute destruction. He enjoyed the destruction he brought to the universe, reveling in the devastation he wreaks

He is also utterly merciless, annihilating entire planets simply because Vegeta and Goku were not there.

On the rare occasion he ever showed any restraint of his power, it was to make his "game" of destruction last longer instead of producing an instant kill.

Kid Buu's power level is 1,150,000,000

In total, Kid Buu generates an excessively high body count exceeding the trillions.

Power levels are completely pointless and show no real form of measurement.

Re: Greatest 50 fictional villains of all time

zim, from invader zim, hes constantly performing biological experiments on people, will stop at nothing to achieve total world destruction + domination of planet earth. i can recall in one episode he takes organs from kids from an elementary school in order to pass a health fitness test. in the end he has 8 hearts, 4 livers, several lungs, etc etc. tries everything from robot army to mind control.

joffrey from game of thrones. this satanic prick needs to be on the list. hes both twisted and cruel. he constantly lies to the innocent people and then screws them over. he can be seen beheading someone and then further defiles the body while laughing which was all for "in the name of justice". he threatens to kill whores with crossbows and then does the same to his future wife. and when he does have a whore he can be seen beating her senselessly, even when she cries out stop no more, he still continues on. there are a million reasons to hate this person.

patrick batemen from american psycho. a serial killer, he cant stop doing it, it feels too good to him. he does it solely for the pleasure it gives him. every single night he has to keep killing people to feel anything at all. even his methods are twisted, one scene he forces two women to have sex with each other while he films it, later he can be seen revving a chainsaw and chases the naked women through the building, the whole time hes laughing.
