A complaint about complaints not meant for the complaint area.

Hi there. Been playing this game for a few days and loved it. I do play these kind of games in real where you have expressions, sounds, moods written into faces to fill up the roles. In fact I prefer the real games because online it's like playing poker online - it's hard without more than just pure words, that make up less than 50% of communication in general.
Thats where my complaint fits: even a good player can be fooled, without expressions, sounds,... I read the "READ BEFORE POSTING.." thing and it clearly states that people are people and make mistakes. But then I read some of the complaints and was like... shocked. Many complaints about people who just killed the wrong person. IN AN ONLINE GAME. IN A GAME THATS BASED ON LIES AND MISTRUST/MISTINFORMATION. I felt like throwing up, because my personal experience in the last online matches of this great mod were more often hard work than fun. The more you play the more often you make mistakes, but people tend to give you bad names instantly, no communication.
I asked this guy (Umgee) who was a fellow mafia (I was GF) why he was so mad afterwards, but he just called me kid and stupid (33 years, studied maths and english language). I asked whether it was because I did not use the night chat (we had a spy in game), whether it was because he got mad when i did not use the night chat (because i simply don't like chatting too much in mafia night chat), then called my name in chat and raged the next few rounds. Spy called me GF next day, surprise surprise, survived with some luck, got the "rager" put to trial the next day and voted to kill him (yeah sometimes you do that to safe yourself, thats the opposite of throwing) and he confirmed my role as GF when he was about to be hanged. His rage held on, even when i afterwards tried to talk to him.
Now I've seen the complaint part of this forum, I fear that this mod will end in suicide, people being accused for being either "stupid kids" or "griefer" because they made a wrong decision. I play online games for over 12 years and always wondered why people keep on annoying gamers, new and old.
Online games follow a simple logic - the more people play it - the better it gets. People like Ambient seem to think that it's way more fun to play some super-police-strike-force, shaking his head so long he'll find the hair in the soup, even ... (pardon me, thats so hilarious I forgot to breathe for a moment) telling janitors ingame that they will be reportet when they execute him (!). Imagine everyone in this game doing this. Where will that lead to?
There are people who try to ruin this game, BUT sometimes even the hardest trolls are just playing a role they chose. I do agree on punishing those who really really attack the game as it is, but remember, when some rabid dog that was once used to catch griefers and trolls now attacks everyone he does not like, this dog might well be safest way to keep the games empty, thus ruining it for nearly everyone.
Rule 2: People make mistakes. Not everyone throws the game by executing a doc. Like some other guy stated quite right - what I know about the roles so far is NOT what others know. When I know town is going to lynch the wrong guy, the most stupid thing I can do is to assume everyone's dumb. Fact is, sad as it is, thats common gaming now.

There is definitely a lot of people in the complaints department merely venting about a loss because someone lynched the wrong person, or the vigilante shot a sheriff. To an extent it's to be expected when you give people a way to make others get disciplined, most of which don't bother to read the table of crimes, and half of those even bother to report it correctly in the title.

However, Dark.revenant seems to be very patient about it, and addresses all crimes seriously, and has not taken away the complaints department yet so let us not abuse it and thank him for it.

Out of curiosity, how do you decide which ones are only skim and skip worthy? And do you only take actions when you specifically say that you do?

I do notice that in a lot of posts, you will say whether or not you are putting someone on watch-list or kick list, and other times i see that you don't.

Personally I have probably posted 10 complaints in the complaint tab, and maybe 1 or 2 of them are questionably not breaking the rules in the way you have presented them. Then there are the complaints i have made that are unquestionably people playing the game in a way that you have forbidden, and even though it attracts donors and mods, it doesn't seem to get your attention specifically.

If you don't comment on it specifically, does that automatically mean it wasn't considered a valid reason for disciplining someone?
