Lying to the Jailor as Town?

I have a question about when I get Jailed... I remember a long while ago, there wasn't any Kidnapper. I stopped the game and then played it again, and I really got surprised when I kidnapper got me, making him revealing I'm Sheriff.

Since this moment, I'm much more careful when I get Jailed, mostly if I see that a kidnapper is possible. I happened to lie to a Jailor, but it made me getting lynched (the same night, another guy with the same role died).

What would you advise me? When I have an importante role, and that I get Jailed with possibility of Kidnapper? One thing is sure is that I always put in my lastwill that if I'm killed, there is a kidnapper, but beside that...

Well i dont think there is a real strategy against it, since there are even normal jailor that just kill you with a legit defence, there are also jailors that claim to be kidnapper to let neutral evils reveal themselves. The last will is the importants thing, in the end it always depends on luck and sure you can claim a other role in jail, but the most times it doesnt rly went well and you will lose the trust of town as investigative, if it was a jailor that jailed you. On the other hand kidnapper is pretty seldom in the normal saves, at least i saw him in 100 games only 3 times.

Yea, it's fine to lie to Jailor/Kidnapper. Maybe not as much if there is confirmed no Kidnapper, but some Jailors are really dumb so you might have to lie in order to survive. Or, if you're a role list Citizen lol.

A few days ago I rolled Veteran and was jailed n1. I'm not going to risk telling the Mafia n1 my true role, so I decide to test them by claiming Mayor. He executed me and I put in my last will that it was a kidnapper because I claimed Mayor and told him I would reveal.

when im mayor and i get jailed, i often claim the most common role (sheriff or doctor) until i know that theres no kidnapper/interrogator around. i wont tell the jailor my real role until someone claims blackmailed, or the same person is roleblocked more than once. etc. or until that maf/triad support turns up dead.

ill only tell the jailor my role right off the bat is if i know kidnapper/interrogator isnt possible at all, or if i consider myself to be not important enough of the kidnapper/interrogator kill, as if i was something like escort detective or mason leader.

You CAN lie as a town, but not always, it depends on what day is it in the game and role list.
If you have completely no idea if there is a jailor in the late game, then you probably give it a gamble either way.

What I do is usually claim a correct role and wrong feedback and wrong read to confuse the jailor/kidnapper.
Then leave some last will says "Ah ! Gamethrowing jailor again!"
I claim mayor often than sheriff/doctor, if I fake.

When I get Jailed, the first thing I do is typing in my last will "Kidnapper here", in case they do kill me...

However, I noticed a huge mistake from Kidnappers... Well... It happened twice to me. The first time, I got tricked, but the seconde time nop... (though the town just threw the game here...)
I also got 2 Kidnappers that revealed their numbers to me. I really found it weird the first time but I said nothing, whilst the second time... the town just didn't listen to me (despite I was affirmed)... Just to say never trust a Jailor that reveal his number.

Don't bothered by what other people say, just do what you want until you get reported.
It is allowed to be a scum town member, only thing you don't do is lynch your own member on critical lynch.
Other than that, it is fine.
