this is a stupid analogy. yes the person that donates to the construction of a new building gets his name on the building. that doesn't mean he gets to just walk around campus going into whatever rooms he wants. and yes, investors go to the banquet because they helped see the project completed. however, in this case, you already made the mafia map, the donations came after you were already done.

The simple fact is that donors are more likely to be on the straight and narrow than non-donors. This isn't always the case; hell, even a benefactor got banned at some point. But it's a trend.

The mods listen to everyone (or at least they SHOULD), but preferential treatment for donors is natural when they have shown a clear indicator of being supportive. It's not something I ask the mods to do; they just do it naturally because it's just logical.

First report is usually a warning, second we either take powers or give some kind of List. Third is always taking powers. Severity plays a roll as well, obviously.

tbh, Mod Powers shouldn't even be a thing. It has been proven time and time again that most people can't handle the responsibilities. And, honestly, if you're using Mod Powers in a game, the game is already ruined. Mod Powers can't save a game, and revealing yourself as a Mod early on just makes trolls WANT to ruin it. I think that the powers should just be given to Admins and NOT Moderators/Keepers.

If you think you can't urge Keepers to work without offering Mod Powers, you're hiring the wrong people to begin with. If you still think you need to offer Mod Powers to these people, offer them to the person who does the most reports each month or something. At least that would prevent ppl from fizzing out as much.

But more to the OP, I don't think donors get special treatment. 99% of the active members on this site are donors. That other topic that was linked is really retarded, to me. He is confirmed to ruin games, and is even trying to ruin games even though he is banned. He thinks that HE deserves special treatment? No, he deserves to have his mom take his internet away and go make real friends instead.
