Self-confirmation

I like the idea but it is another self-confirm role.

I think we often bump into a self-confirmation grey area,

it would be beneficial to prediscuss meta self-confirmation first.

From my observation(mainly consider town):


There are three existing degrees of selfconfirmation :

1. Mayor type

Self-confirmation immediately

Risk: Being trolled.

Gapbetween 1&2: old Spy who read pm, Marshall who can not reveal on trial

2. Crier type

Self-confirmation through unique message
Took time but claim is solid

all Risks above &
Risk1: you must survive the day trial to confirm your role.
Risk2: If you can't type some thing others can not type, you can still be countered.
Risk3: Disguise

Gap between 2&3 : Jailor

3. Escort/vigilante/etc type

Not so solid claim,
Took time and sometimes took life too

Self-confirmation through action feed back

all Risks above &
Risk1: Target lied about your visiting
Risk2: Witch and/or busdriver screws you up

Gap between 3 & 4 : Town investigatives

4&below: Doctor, bodyguard, etc....

Where is veteran self confirm through lw's of the docs and sheriff?
Also spy do not read pms so he is not a self confirmer to town anymore. He can be to mafia although.
Marshall same as the Mayor i do not see a diffrence other than when being on trial.

Anyways
Tier 1(Undeniable Confirm) is Mayor,Marshal,Crier and since all of them town goverment it is ok. Also they do not hold any risk as long as there is a bodyguard.

Tier 2(Strong confirm) is bus driver,Veteran. Since bd can visit 2 people you can establish a trust network in 2 days with visiting 4 diferent people. Veteran more easy just alert n1 and kill sheriff than if town is smart all pm to veteran.

Tier 3(Action Confirm) is Amnesiac(with reveal on),Vigilante. The only way to lose your trust to town is some other guy claim the same role and SAME ACTION.

Tier 4(Cross Confirm) is escort,jailor. If mafia do not have a liason or kidnaper they are are smilar to Tier 3 .

Tier 5(Fixed-Alone confirm) is all fixed roles. Similar to Tier 3 only way to broke town trust is scum-claim same role. If there is a fixed and lonely citizen in role list and only you claim it than you are the citizen or citizen is blackmailed. Or as usual real citizen is noob.

Tier 6(Invest-Trust confirm)is all invest roles. Sometimes town has a clear Sheriff who they can feel they can trust. Still very rare event.

Tier 7(Prof. Doctor Confirm) is a doc who heals. Very rare event. Plus the attacker usually also claims to be the doc.

Tier 8(Non-Confirm) Citizen,Bodyguard,Fail Doctor,Survivor.... They do not do anything so no room to confirm them other than simply trusting them town has no choose but to exe them if someone else claims the same role-slot.



PS: Ofc with bd,jester and witch anything can possible under tier 1.

I was categories the tier by time-efficient rather than the claim.

as you pointed out,
if a spy doesnt read pm it should be lower.

veteran would be higher than town inv in my system because it cost both time and life to confirm.

I think your tier system is much more accurate but wouldnt be simple enough to use.
