Thresh is more often than not not banned where I'm at. He is a good ban, but not necessarily top priority.

Thresh makes wonderful plays which is why he is always banned. If I a chance to play Thresh I take it since I love to play him and I am good at him.

His hook CC early game is devastating, he becomes extraordinarily tanky for a Support, and his ultimate keeps him relevant in team fights.
Supports win bot lane, and Thresh is #1 Support by a pretty massive margin.

Thresh is undeniably good, but champions like Janna, Sona, Blitzcrank and Leona are still popular. Blitzcrank counterpick is for example something that happens often versus Thresh. This doesn't mean that we have to ban him though, there are other champs on other lanes that may be more fearsome, all subjective anyway.

Midlaners are as usual Gragas, Kassadin, Orianna and all that jazz. FOTM essentially. And toplane champs haven't changed since the last season or so. NA and EU meta is pretty similar but I was only talking about support champs not being banned as often as it appears to happen on NA.

adc - lucian/caitlyn

support - taric/leona/blitz/thresh

jungle - lee sin/gragas/shyvana

everyone else is second rate and skill dependent, these champs are cruise control to victory.

Disagree about ADC, Caitlyn used to be awesome but nowadays is outclassed by Lucian, Jinx and Sivir.

And Gragas jungle is good, but I would only use it in lower ELO games (ofc depending on the toplaner on the team, if Darius is top then it wouldn't be wrong to take someone like Maokai or Malphite).
