You know why he got killed? Why he went from seeming decently pro-town day 1 to scummy as shit day 2? Because he started trying to distance himself from me on day 2 once we were together. All of his "scumslips" were directed at me, and that's what motivated Dack to kill him.

If I told you who we attempted to convert, you'd know who might be a priest now. Doesn't that seem like a bad idea?

I will tell you that we attempted to convert Dack the night that he shot Jace, because I knew that he'd continue to pursue his hunch to the ultimate conclusion. It's just too bad that Dack was vigi instead of the cit role he was acting.

I didn't counterclaim because I was gone while Baltrice was openly faking priest. Before he started to lie about who had been recruited, I thought he might simply be cit trying to take a bullet for the town. (This was when Dack was speculating that Baltrice was priest & Baltrice didn't deny it.)
