Why does Jailer have to type - Jail

Why cant he just select who he wants to use his ability on like normal classes, except only if their is not lynches of course.

Its just annoying, as jailer, 90 percent of the time you cant jail, and when you can, you sometimes can miss it or forget.

I just dot see a reason, unless its some technical reason, can anyone explain.

How is a jailor supposed to participate in voting and lynching if his bar is permanently occupied by the -jail selection?

You think he should have to type -vote every time he wants to vote instead? Pretty sure he'll be voting more often than he'll be jailing.

Yes i am aware of that, which is why i asked if it was a technical limitation.

But, couldn't it just be, he can chose the person to jail, in discussion, and after trials. During trials its for votes. That seems to make much more sense. Maybe that is just me.

What format would you suggest that doesn't compromise his ability to have a normal interface in the daytime?

There could be 2 buttons next to each name like there is for a witch or bus driver. One is for voting, the other is for jailing. It would be nice not having to type -jail as I often forget to or if the situation has changed I might not be able to change my jail quick enough.

The jailer does not need to be modified. If you cannot remember to type -jail that is a personal issue.

You could script another line for day activities beside voting, but i think that would require only more space and therefore adding more in script size.

The main issue is congestion. The vote button would be squished and ugly (even if I got new art) and there would be a strange line of jail buttons. What if you wanted to jail someone but missed and instead you hammered them to trial?

I have to admit that I forget to Jail people at least 90% of the time when I'm a Jailer because I get too wrapped up in the daytime chat to remember.

But I still think it's fine the way it is, I just have to learn

I like the current format because it allows me to get Jailors to jail me first night (I type =jail and hit enter) so I can get a password from them for later in the game.

Also, two buttons would mean accidentally clicking people to lynch instead of jail, which is about as valid a complaint as having to do -jail.
